IIT Bombay [IITB] : Scholarships

IIT Bombay offers a variety of scholarships to its students, both undergraduate and postgraduate. These scholarships are based on academic merit, financial need, and other criteria.

Academic Merit Scholarships

1. KVPY Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students qualified for the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) fellowship.
2. JEE Advanced Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who have secured a high rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced.
3. Institute Merit Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who have secured a high rank in the IIT Bombay entrance exam.
4. Other Merit Scholarships: IIT Bombay also offers many other merit scholarships, such as the Director's Scholarship, the Dean's Scholarship, and the Department Scholarships.

Financial Need Scholarships

1. Tuition Fee Waiver: IIT Bombay offers tuition waivers to students from economically weaker sections of society.
2. Post-Matric Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students from Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
3. National Scholarship Scheme: This scholarship is awarded to students from economically weaker social sections pursuing higher education.
4. Other Financial Need Scholarships: IIT Bombay also offers several other financial need scholarships, such as the Alumni and Donor scholarships.

Other Scholarships

1. Teaching Assistantship (TA): TAs are paid to assist faculty members in teaching and research.
2. Research Assistantship (RA): RAs are paid to work on research projects with faculty members.
3. Industry-Sponsored Scholarships: Many industries sponsor scholarships for IIT Bombay students.
4. Other Scholarships: IIT Bombay also offers scholarships like the Sports and Cultural Seals.
