Hostel for Boys
- The Hostel Coordinating Unit (HCU) is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of 17 hostels on the campus, including hostels numbered 1 to 16, hostel number 18, and Tansa Hostel.
- The HCU also oversees the workforce under the centralized hostel management system.
- The hostels provide essential facilities such as water purifiers, a common room, a recreation room, a mess, a TV, laundry services, security, and a surveillance system.
- Both the boys' and girls' hostels offer various accommodation options including single occupancy and shared rooms.
- These hostels are located within the campus premises, ensuring convenient access for the students.
- Allocation of Hostels to Existing and New Students: The HCU manages the allotment of hostels to both existing and newly joining students. It ensures that students stay on campus in a compliant manner throughout their stay.
Allocation of Hostels to Newly Joining Students:
The process of allocating hostels to newly joined students is as follows:
- The list of students joining the institute is received from the academic section.
- Based on the availability of rooms in various hostels, students are randomly allocated rooms.
- Normally, room allocation changes are not permitted.
- The allocation considers grouping students from the same department together to facilitate efficient management of departmental activities, such as projects.
- Typically, all first-year students across academic programs (UG, PG) are assigned to the same hostel.
- Only shared accommodation is provided during the first year of any academic program (B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D., M.Phil, B.Des, M.Des, etc.).
Allocation of Hostel to Existing Students:
From the second year onwards, students are shifted to other hostels based on their department. No changes in allocation are allowed during this process.
Hostel for Girls
The facilities allocated for girls are the same as for boys.
