IIT Patna [IITP] : Hostel

IIT Patna has 7 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls. The hostels are located in a peaceful and green environment inside the campus. Each hostel is self-contained and has the following facilities:

1. Mess: The mess provides good quality food to the students. The meals are served hygienically, and tea, coffee and snacks are available multiple times daily.
2. Gymnasium: The gymnasium has all the equipment students need to stay fit. There are also separate gyms for boys and girls.
3. Indoor games room: The indoor games room has table tennis, carrom, and chess tables. There is also a TV room where students can watch movies and TV shows.
4. Outdoor sports facilities: The hostels have basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. There is also a football ground located near the hostels.
5. Standard rooms: There are common rooms on each floor of the hostels where students can gather, relax, and study.
6. Medical room: Each hostel has a medical room where students can get medical treatment.
7. Water coolers and geysers: There are water coolers and geysers on each floor of the hostels to provide hot water and drinking water to the students.
8. Intelligent lighting system: The hostels have an innovative lighting system that helps to save energy.

The hostels also have fire alarms and fire extinguishers for safety purposes.

The capacity of each hostel varies. The smallest hostel has an ability of 100 students, while the largest hostel has a total of 150 students.

Students are allotted hostels based on their academic performance and seniority. First-year students are usually assigned hostels closer to the academic buildings.

The facilities Allocated for boys are the same as for girls.
