To apply for the BTech course at IIT Indore, candidates must follow the admission process outlined below:

  1. Meet Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must fulfill the IIT Indore BTech eligibility criteria.
  2. JEE Advanced: Candidates must appear for the JEE Advanced exam and qualify to be considered for admission.
  3. JoSAA Counselling: After declaring JEE Advanced results, selected candidates must participate in the JoSAA counseling process.

IIT Indore BTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible for BTech admission, Applicants should have successfully finished their higher secondary education (10+2) in the science stream, obtaining a minimum of 75% marks per the latest academic requirements.
  2. For individuals in the SC/ST category, a minimum score of 65% in their 10+2 education is mandatory to meet the eligibility criteria for BTech admission. This criterion has been set following the guidelines established by the respective academic authorities.
  3. Alternatively, candidates in the top 20 percentile in their class 12 examination can apply for BTech admission.
  4. All candidates must possess a valid JEE Advanced Score to be considered for BTech admission.

IIT Indore BTech Selection Criteria

  1. The final selection for IIT Indore is determined through the JoSAA Counselling, which considers the rank achieved in the JEE Advanced examination.

IIT Indore BTech+MTech Admission Process

IIT Indore offers a 5-Year B.Tech + M.Tech integrated course in 4 specializations. Candidates who are pursuing BTech from IIT Indore become eligible for this 5-Year integrated course after the completion of their 6th semester.

IIT Indore MTech Admission Process

  1. IIT Indore presents various postgraduate programs, including MTech in 15 different specializations.
  2. To participate in the seat allocation process at IIT Indore, candidates must complete their registration on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).
  3. Only candidates registered on COAP are eligible to participate in the admission process for MTech courses at the postgraduate level.
  4. Besides MTech, IIT Indore offers other postgraduate courses such as MSc and MS.
  5. The duration of these postgraduate courses at IIT Indore spans two years.

IIT Indore MTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. Indian Applicants:
    1. Candidates must have at least 60% aggregate in B.E. or B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline.
    2. Applicants need to apply for the GATE exam with the above qualification.
    3. Students in their 3rd year of study can also take the GATE exam.
  2. Foreign Applicants:
    1. Foreign applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering or its equivalent.
    2. They are required to demonstrate their English proficiency with TOEFL or IELTS scores.
    3. In some cases, certain departments may conduct interviews before making the final selection.
  3. GATE Score Exemption: The following students are exempted from submitting GATE scores:

IIT Indore MTech Selection Criteria

Applicants who meet the above-mentioned criteria are eligible to apply for the GATE exam. Admission to the M.Tech. program is based on GATE scores. Once they qualify for GATE, applicants must apply for counseling through COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) to secure their admission.

IIT Indore provides an attractive opportunity for candidates through its Integrated MTech + PhD—dual Degree program, available in 15 different specializations. Students currently enrolled in the MTech program at IIT Indore can switch to the Integrated Dual Degree program after completing their 3rd semester, given that they meet the specified eligibility criteria.

During the 3rd semester of the MSc program, candidates can switch to the MSc + PhD. To qualify for consideration, applicants should have completed a Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline, securing a minimum of 60% marks, from an officially recognized university or institute to be eligible for the program. To be eligible for the MSc + PhD program after the third semester, students must maintain a specific CGPA set by the institute.

IIT Indore MSc+PhD Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates is done through the IIT JAM counseling process, which involves four rounds of admission. Seat allocation is determined based on various factors, including the scores obtained in the JAM entrance test, preferences indicated during choice filling, seat availability, categories, and other relevant considerations.

IIT Indore MS (Research) Admissions Process

IIT Indore offers an MS (Research) Program in 6 different specializations. The program's maximum duration is three years, providing students with flexibility and emphasizing research-focused learning. Students must complete the necessary coursework and defend a high-quality MS thesis to graduate from the program based on their research work.

  1. Register on the COAP portal.
  2. After completing the registration at COAP, applicants can access information about the offers (if any) from participating institutes during the designated time windows on the COAP portal.
  3. The shortlisting of applicants will be based on their GATE score, with IIT graduates having a CPI of 8.0 or higher being exempted from GATE qualification and shortlisted based on their CPI.
  4. Among the shortlisted applicants, those selected through COAP will receive offers for the respective PG program and category (as mentioned during application) in strict order of merit.

IIT Indore MS Research Admission Category

IIT Indore offers admission to the MS Research Program under various categories:

  1. TA (Teaching Assistantship) Category: Students under this category are considered Full-Time students.
  2. SW (Sponsored) Category: Candidates sponsored by reputed Industries or R&D Organizations with a minimum work experience of two years are eligible for admission.
  3. DF (Defence Forces) Category: Applicants from the Defence Forces are eligible for admission to the MS Research program at IIT Indore.
  4. IS (Internal Staff) Category: Regular staff members of IIT Indore on a Part-Time basis are eligible under this category.

IIT Indore MS (Research) Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible for the program, candidates must have a minimum CPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks or First Class in B.E/BTech/MSc or equivalent in any discipline. They should also possess a valid GATE score or be qualified in NET(JRF)/INSPIRE.
  2. Candidates with a BTech degree in the relevant discipline from an IIT, having a minimum CPI of 8.0 or above, are exempted from the mandatory GATE score requirement.
  3. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the CPI/Marks criteria will be relaxed by 0.5 CPI (or 5% marks).
  4. Regular category candidates must have a valid GATE score or NET-JRF in the relevant discipline.
  5. Industry-sponsored candidates do not require a valid GATE score for eligibility.

IIT Indore MS (Research) Selection Criteria

Candidates applying for the MS (Research) program at IIT Indore will receive their final admission offers based on their GATE Scores. The GATE Score is a crucial factor in the selection process, and it serves as a unique parameter for evaluating each candidate's eligibility for the program.

IIT Indore offers PhD programs in all academic departments, providing a wide range of 16 different specializations. The maximum duration of the PhD course is three years. The institute provides PhD admissions in the following categories: 

  1. Fellowship Awardee (FA): Awardee from funding agencies such as CSIR, UGC, NBHM, DST, or a JRF/SRF project staff working in a funded project at IIT Indore.
