NIT Srinagar BTech Admission Process
- Appear for JEE Main: All candidates aspiring to BTech at NIT Srinagar must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. JEE Main is a nationwide entrance examination administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The institute offers a 4-year BTech program with eight specialisations.
- Apply for JoSAA Counselling: Once qualified for JEE Main, you need to apply for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) Counselling. JoSAA is a centralised counselling process for admission to various engineering colleges in India, including NIT Srinagar.
- Select Your Preferred Colleges and Courses: In the JoSAA application form, you must select your preferred colleges and courses. You can select up to 100 colleges and courses in the order of your preference.
- Lock Your Choices: Once you have selected your preferred colleges and courses, you must lock your choices. Once you have locked your choices, you cannot change your application.
- Participate in JoSAA Counselling: JoSAA Counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. In each round, you will be allotted a seat based on your JEE Main rank, your preferences, and the availability of seats.
- Accept Your Seat: If you are allotted a seat in a round of JoSAA counselling, you must accept the seat within the stipulated period. It would be best if you accepted the seat to be considered for subsequent rounds of Counselling.
- Report to the Allotted College: Once you have accepted your seat, you must report to the allotted College on the specified date. You must carry all the required documents, such as your JEE Main admit Card, scorecard, and class 12th mark sheet.
NIT Srinagar BTech Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Applicants must have completed the 10+2 examination from a recognised board or university, with mandatory subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates must have secured at least 75% marks in aggregate (65% for reserved categories) in the 10+2 examination.
Entrance Examination:
- Candidates must have qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

- Merit List: A merit list will be compiled based on the candidates' academic performance in their qualifying examinations. This list will be the basis for shortlisting candidates for subsequent selection rounds.
- Seat Allocation: Seats at NIT Srinagar will be allocated to shortlisted candidates based on their merit rank and preferences in the DASA online portal.
- Online Reporting: Allocated candidates must report online to NIT Srinagar for document verification and admission formalities.
- Admission: Candidates who complete the online reporting process will be granted admission to BTech programs at NIT Srinagar through DASA.
NIT Srinagar BTech Eligibility Criteria Through DASA
- To be eligible, individuals must be citizens of India, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). Additionally, they should have completed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) with mandatory subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
- Secured at least 75% marks or 8.0 CGPA in the qualifying examination
- Have a valid SAT score of 1400 or above.

NIT Srinagar MTech Admission Process
- Appear for GATE and Obtain a Valid GATE Score: The GATE score is required for all MTech applicants at NIT Srinagar. The minimum GATE score required varies depending on the program and category. NIT Srinagar offers two extended MTech programs under eight specialisations.
- Register for CCMT Counselling: CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech) is a centralised Counselling process for admission to MTech programs at NITs and other participating institutes. To register for CCMT Counselling, visit the CCMT website and create an account.
- Fill out the CCMT Application Form: The CCMT application form will require details, academic qualifications, GATE score, and preferred programs and institutes.
- Lock Your Choices: Once you have completed the CCMT application form, you must lock your choices. In order of preference, you must finalise the programs and institutes you are interested in.
- Participate in CCMT Counselling: CCMT will conduct multiple rounds of Counselling. In each round, candidates will be allotted seats based on their GATE score, preferred choices, and the availability of seats.

NIT Srinagar MTech Eligibility Criteria
- Academic qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or A Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or its equivalent, determined by their written test and interview performance.
- Entrance exam: Candidates must have qualified for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for admission to the MTech program. The GATE score will be used for admission through the Centralised Counselling for MTech Admissions (CCMT).
NIT Srinagar MTech Selection Criteria
- GATE score normalisation: Candidates will be shortlisted for admission based on their GATE score. The GATE score will be normalised based on the discipline of the BTech degree and the difficulty level of the GATE exam in that discipline.

NIT Srinagar MSc Admission Process
- Appear for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM): JAM is a national entrance exam for admission to MSc programs in various disciplines at NITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs).
- Register for the CCMN Counselling: Once you have a valid JAM score, you must register for the Centralised Counselling for MSc. Programs in NITs (CCMN). The CCMN Counselling process is conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
- Choose NIT Srinagar as one of Your Preferred Institutes: While registering for CCMN counselling, you must choose NIT Srinagar as one of your preferred institutes. You can also choose other NITs and CFTIs during the registration process.
- Participate in the CCMN Counselling: The CCMN counselling process is typically conducted annually. During the counselling process, you will be allowed a seat at one of the institutes you have chosen based on your JAM score and other factors.
- Accept the Seat and Pay the Admission Fees: Once you have been allotted a seat at NIT Srinagar, you must accept and pay the admission fees by the specified deadline.
- Submit the Required Documents: After paying the admission fees, you must submit the required documents to NIT Srinagar. The required documents typically include:
- JAM scorecard
- Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
- Graduation degree certificate and mark sheets

NIT Srinagar MSc Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Applicants must possess an A degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised university or institution.
- Percentage of Marks: Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in their Bachelor's degree for General/General-EWS/OBC categories or 55% for SC/ST/PwD categories.
- Final Year Students: Final year appearing students can apply provisionally.
NIT Srinagar MSc Selection Criteria

NIT Srinagar MBA Admission Process
- Appear for and Obtain a valid CAT score: The CAT exam is conducted annually. It is a three-hour online exam that tests candidates on their quantitative ability, verbal ability, data interpretation and logical reasoning skills.
- Upload the required documents: Applicants need to upload scanned copies of the following documents along with their online application form:

- Transcripts and diplomas for 10th grade, 12th grade, and graduation.

- Shortlisting of candidates: Based on their CAT scores, the NIT Srinagar MBA admission committee will shortlist candidates for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates who have been shortlisted will receive notification via email.
- Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI): The GD round tests a candidate's communication and teamwork skills. The Personal Interview (PI) round is a one-on-one interview with a panel of faculty members. The PI round is designed to assess a candidate's overall personality, aptitude for management, and motivation for pursuing an MBA degree.
NIT Srinagar MBA Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution in any discipline.
- Candidates must have scored at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in aggregate in graduation. For OM/EWS/OBC candidates, a relaxation of 5% in marks will be given. For SC/ST/PWD candidates, a relaxation of 10% in marks will be given.
