NIT Raipur Admissions

  1. NIT Raipur offers Admissions for Programs like BTech, BArc MTech, MCA, and PhD.
  2. The Admission for BTech and BArc is based on the JEE Main Entrance exams and Followed by the JOSSA Counselling process.
  3. The institution also offers BTech Admissions for international students based on the DASA. Scheme

NIT Raipur BTech Admission Process

  1. Appear for JEE Main: All candidates aspiring to BTech at NIT Raipur must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. JEE Main is a nationwide entrance examination administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Institute offers a 4-year BTech program with 11 specialisations.
  2. Apply for JoSAA Counselling: Once qualified for JEE Main, you need to apply for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. JoSAA is a centralised counselling process for admission to various engineering colleges in India, including NIT Raipur.
  3. Select Your Preferred Colleges and Courses: In the JoSAA application form, you must select your preferred colleges and courses. You can select up to 100 colleges and courses in the order of your preference.
  4. Lock Your Choices: Once you have selected your preferred colleges and courses, you must lock your choices. Once you have locked your choices, you cannot change your application.
  5. Participate in JoSAA Counselling: JoSAA counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. In each round, you will be allotted a seat based on your JEE Main rank, your preferences, and the availability of seats.
  6. Accept Your Seat: If you are allotted a seat in a round of JoSAA counselling, you must accept the seat within the stipulated period. It would be best if you accepted the seat to be considered for subsequent rounds of counselling.
  7. Report to the Allotted College: Once you have accepted your seat, you must report to the allotted College on the specified date. You must carry all the required documents, such as your JEE Main admit Card, scorecard, and class 12th mark sheet.

NIT Raipur BTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. Academic Qualifications: 
    1. Pass the 10+2 (Class XII) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects from a recognised board.
    2. Secure a minimum aggregate score of 75% in PCM subjects in the qualifying exam.
    3. The minimum aggregate score requirement for SC/ST/PwD candidates is 65%.
  2. Entrance Exams: 
    1. Qualify the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam.

NIT Raipur BTech Selection Criteria

  1. NIT Arunachal Pradesh BTech Selection Criteria is based on the candidate's performance in the JEE Main exam.
  2. Candidates qualified for the JEE Main exam can participate in the JoSAA counselling process.
  3. The JoSAA counselling process is conducted online, and candidates can choose their preferred NITs and branches during the counselling.

NIT Raipur BArch Admission Process

  1. Qualify JEE Main Exam: The JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). To qualify for the JEE Main Exam for the BArch program, you must score at least 85 per cent on the exam. To gain admission to the BArch program at NIT Raipur, candidates must take the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT).
  2. Register for JoSAA Counselling: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts the counselling process for all NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs. The counselling process is conducted online. To register for JoSAA Counselling, you must submit your JEE Main Application Number, Date of Birth, and other necessary credentials.
  3. Fill out JoSAA Choice Filling Form: After registering for JoSAA Counselling, you must complete the JoSAA Choice Filling Form. You must enter your preferences for NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs in the form. You will also have to enter your preferred branches.
  4. JoSAA Seat Allotment: After the JoSAA Choice Filling process ends, the JoSAA will release the seat allotment results. The seat allotment results will be based on your rank in the JEE Main Exam and your preferences.
  5. Document Verification: If you are allotted a seat in JoSAA Counselling, you must report to the allotted NIT for document verification. The document verification process will involve verifying your original documents, such as your JEE Main scorecard, class 12th mark sheet, and other necessary documents.
  6. Final Admission: After completing the document verification process, you will be granted final admission to the BArch program at NIT Raipur.

NIT Raipur BArc Eligibility Criteria

  1. Academic Qualification: 
    1. I passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and technical vocational subjects.
    2. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in the current year are also eligible to apply.
  2. Entrance Exams: 
    1. JEE Main Paper II (BArch.)
    2. NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture)

NIT Raipur BArc Selection Criteria

  1. The candidates for the BArch program at NIT Raipur are selected based on their performance in JEE Main Paper II (BArch.) or NATA.

NIT Raipur BTech Eligibility Criteria Through DASA

  1. Passed the qualifying examination (Class 12th) from a recognised board or university outside India.
  2. Scored at least 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the qualifying examination.
  3. Appeared for the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) conducted by the College Board.
  4. Scored at least 1200 in the SAT I - Reasoning Test and 600 in the SAT II - Subject Tests in Mathematics Level 2 and Physics.

  1. Appear for GATE and Score a Valid GATE Score: The GATE score is required for all MTech applicants at NIT Raipur. The minimum GATE score required varies depending on the program and category.NIT Raipur offers two extended MTech programs under ten specialisations.
  2. Register for CCMT Counselling: CCMT (Centralized Counselling for MTech) is a centralised counselling process for Admission to MTech programs at NITs and other participating institutes. To register for CCMT counselling, visit the CCMT website and create an account.
  3. Fill out the CCMT Application Form: The CCMT application form will require details, academic qualifications, GATE score, and preferred programs and institutes.
  4. Lock Your Choices: Once you have completed the CCMT application form, you must lock your choices. In order of preference, you must finalise the programs and institutes you are interested in.
  5. Participate in CCMT Counselling: CCMT will conduct multiple rounds of counselling. In each round, candidates will be allotted seats based on their GATE score, preferred choices, and the availability of seats.
  6. Accept Your Seat and Pay the Admission Fee: If you are allotted a seat in the CCMT counselling, you must accept it and pay the admission fee within the stipulated time.

NIT Raipur MTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology (BTech/BE) From a recognised university or Institute. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
  2. Entrance Exam: Candidates must constitute the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for the specific MTech program they are applying for. A valid GATE score is mandatory for all candidates seeking Admission to MTech programs at NIT Raipur.
  3. Reservation Criteria: The Institute follows the reservation policy of the Government of India, which provides reservations for various categories, including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

NIT Raipur MTech Selection Criteria

  1. GATE score normalisation: Candidates will be shortlisted for AdmissionAdmission based on their GATE score. The GATE score will be normalised based on the discipline of the BTech degree and the difficulty level of the GATE exam in that discipline.
  2. Written test and Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and Interview. The written test will be based on the subjects of the BTech degree and the MTech program. The Interview will assess the candidate's aptitude for research and higher studies.
  3. Final selection: The final selection of candidates will be based on the GATE score, written test, Interview, and academic performance.

NIT Raipur MCA Admission Process

  1. Appear in NIMCET: The National Institute of Technology, Calicut, offers admission to its Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program based on the National Institute of Management and Communications Entrance Test (NIMCET) scores. NIMCET is a national-level entrance examination administered by one of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
  2. Register for NIMCET Counselling: Once the NIMCET results are declared, eligible candidates can register for NIMCET counselling. Counselling is conducted online, and candidates are allotted seats in NITs based on their NIMCET scores, preferences, and other factors.
  3. Accept the Seat and Pay the Fee: If you are allotted a seat at NIT Raipur, you must accept the seat and pay the admission fee. The admission fee can be paid either online or through a bank draft.
  4. Submit the Required Documents: After paying the admission fee, you must submit the required documents to NIT Raipur. The required documents include: 
    1. Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
    2. Graduation mark sheets and degree certificate
    3. NIMCET scorecard

NIT Raipur MCA Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree (BSc, BTech, BCA, BVoc, etc.) with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects.
  2. Minimum Marks: A minimum aggregate of 60% or 6.5/10 CGPA marks in the Bachelor's degree examinations is required for candidates. SC/ST/PWD candidates must have a minimum of 55% marks.
  3. NIMCET Score: Candidates must take the National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) and achieve a valid score.

NIT Raipur MCA Selection Criteria

  1. The candidates' NIMCET scores will determine admission selection. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for counselling and personal interviews. Final admission will be based on the candidate's performance in the NIMCET, counselling, and personal Interview.

NIT Raipur PhD Admission Process

  1. Apply Online: 
    1. Visit the official website of NIT Raipur and register yourself.
    2. Pay the application fee online.
    3. Complete the online application form and upload the necessary documents.
  2. Upload Required Documents: Candidates must upload the required documents once they have paid the application fee. The required documents include: 
    1. A scanned copy of the mark sheet from the Master's degree examination. Scanned a copy of the GATE/NET or UGC/CSIR for the JRF scorecard.
    2. A scanned copy of the provisional/final certificate of the Master's degree.
    3. A scanned copy of the research proposal.

NIT Raipur PhD Eligibility Criteria

  1. Academic Qualifications: 
    1. Master's degree: You must hold a Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science/Management/Humanities and Social Science, Architecture/Planning, or any other equivalent qualification recognised by the Institute.
    2. Minimum marks: You must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA/CPI at the Master's level.
  2. Additional criteria for different categories: 
    1. Regular faculty and staff: Regular faculty and staff members of NIT Raipur with a successful probation period are optional to appear for the written entrance exam.
    2. External candidates: External candidates working in other public/private sector organisations or research laboratories with R&D facilities can conduct part or all of their research work there under the supervision of a co-guide employed in the same organisation and a guide/supervisor at NIT Raipur.

NIT Raipur PhD Selection Criteria
