NIT Nagaland BTech Admission Process

  1. Appear for JEE Main: All candidates aspiring to BTech at NIT Nagaland must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. JEE Main is a nationwide entrance examination administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The institute offers a 4-year long BTech programme under 5 different specialisations.
  2. Apply for JoSAA Counselling: Once qualified for JEE Main, you need to apply for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. JoSAA is a centralised counselling process for admission to various engineering colleges in India, including NIT Nagaland.
  3. Select Your Preferred Colleges and Courses: In the JoSAA application form, you must select your preferred colleges and courses. You can select up to 100 colleges and courses in the order of your preference.
  4. Lock Your Choices: Once you have selected your preferred colleges and courses, you must lock your choices. Once you have locked your choices, you cannot change your application.
  5. Participate in JoSAA Counselling: JoSAA counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. In each round, you will be allotted a seat based on your JEE Main rank, your preferences, and the availability of seats.
  6. Accept Your Seat: If you are allotted a seat in a round of JoSAA counselling, you must accept the seat within the stipulated period. You must accept the seat to be considered for subsequent rounds of counselling.
  7. Report to the Allotted College: Once you have accepted your seat, you must report to the allotted college on the specified date. You must carry all the required documents, such as your JEE Main admit Card, scorecard, and class 12th mark sheet.

NIT Nagaland BTech Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualification:

  1. Candidates must have completed Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognised board or institution with a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  2. For candidates belonging to the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) domicile, the minimum percentage required is 60% (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL) in PCM.

    2. Candidates who have completed the prescribed qualifying examination (BSc. Physics & Chemistry (Hons)) with a first-class or a CGPA of 6.5 for general and OBC candidates and 55% or a CGPA of 6.0 for SC and ST candidates are eligible to apply for admission to the MSc. (Physics) program.
  2. GATE Score: Candidates must have a valid GATE score in the relevant subject. The minimum GATE score required varies depending on the MTech program.
  3. Provisional Admission: Candidates awaiting their final semester results may be granted provisional admission on the condition that they produce their final semester results by the prescribed date.

NIT Nagaland MTech Selection Criteria

NIT Nagaland MSc Admission Process

  1. Appear for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM): JAM is a national entrance exam for admission to MSc programs in various disciplines at NITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs).
  2. Register for the CCMN Counselling: Once you have a valid JAM score, you must register for the Centralized Counselling for MSc. Programs in NITs (CCMN). The CCMN counselling process is conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
  3. Choose NIT Nagaland as one of Your Preferred Institutes: While registering for CCMN counselling, you must choose NIT Nagaland as one of your preferred institutes. You can also choose other NITs and CFTIs during the registration process.

The minimum requirement is a First class with a CGPA/CPI of 6.5 or above on a scale of 10, or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
