NIT Kurukshetra Admissions
NIT Kurukshetra admits students to its various programs through entrance examinations. Candidates should visit the college's official website to apply for admission at NIT Kurukshetra. Subsequently, they must register for the specific entrance examination related to their chosen course. For B.Tech programs, candidates are required to take the JEE Mains entrance examination. Those interested in M.Tech programs should appear for the GATE examination. Admission to the MBA course at NIT Kurukshetra necessitates candidates to sit for the CAT, CMAT, GMAT, or MAT entrance examination. Meanwhile, candidates looking to join the MCA program must complete the NIMCET entrance examination. As for the PhD course, candidates must participate in an admission test and a personal interview.
NIT Kurukshetra BTech Admission Process
Step 1: Appear for JEE Main
All candidates seeking admission to the BTech program at NIT Kurukshetra must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE Main), a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Step 2: Register for JoSAA/CSAB Counseling
Candidates qualified for JEE Main must register for Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) or Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) counselling. JoSAA and CSAB are responsible for conducting joint seat allocations for admission to engineering and technological institutions across India.
Step 3: Fill out the JoSAA/CSAB Choice Filling Form
During JoSAA/CSAB counselling, candidates must fill out a choice filling form, in which they will list their preferred institutions and programs in order of preference.
Step 4: Attend Seat Allotment Rounds
JoSAA/CSAB will conduct multiple seat allotment rounds, and candidates will be allotted seats based on their JEE Main scores and choices in the choice filling form.
Step 5: Accept Your Seat
If you are allotted a seat at NIT Kurukshetra, you must accept it and pay the requisite fees to confirm your admission.
Step 6: Report to NIT Kurukshetra
Once you have accepted your seat, you must report to NIT Kurukshetra on the specified date to complete the admission formalities.
NIT Kurukshetra BTech Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a minimum of 75% marks in their 10+2 examination or be in the top 20% of their respective board. They should have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or a Technical Vocational subject.
For candidates in the SC/ST category, the qualifying marks for the 12th class examination should be 65%.
All applicants are required to qualify for the JEE Main examination.
Seat reservations will be made according to the guidelines set by the Government of India.
NIT Kurukshetra BTech Selection Criteria
A category-wise merit list will be created, considering candidates' 12th exam results and their JEE Main scores, including their All India Rank (AIR).
To participate in the admission process at NIT Kurukshetra, candidates must complete online registration for counselling on the official JoSSA website.
Choice filling and locking are compulsory tasks and must be performed by the candidates. They should list their branch preferences in descending order.

NIT Kurukshetra MTech Admission Process

GATE: Candidates must have a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline.
CCMT Counselling: Admissions to NIT Kurukshetra are done through the Centralized Counseling for M.Tech./M.Sc./M.Plan. (CCMT) process. Candidates with qualified GATE must register for CCMT counselling and select NIT Kurukshetra as one of their preferred choices.
Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted to candidates based on their GATE score and rank in CCMT counselling.
Reporting: Candidates allotted a seat at NIT Kurukshetra must report to the Institute on the specified date and time to complete the admission process.
NIT Kurukshetra MTech Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have obtained at least 60% marks in their B.Tech degree or an equivalent Cumulative Performance Analysis (CPA) of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.
All applicants are required to qualify for the GATE Exam.
Seat reservations will be made under the guidelines established by the Government of India.
NIT Kurukshetra MTech Selection Criteria
Every candidate who has qualified in the GATE examination is required to attend CCMT Counselling.
Candidate selection will be based on a combination of their GATE scores and performance in the CCMT counselling process, resulting in the compilation of a candidate list.
The central counselling board of CCMT will determine the cutoff scores for each specialization.
NIT Kurukshetra MBA Admission Process
NIT Kurukshetra offers a full-time MBA of 2 years duration. NIT Kurukshetra admission in MBA is based on CAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score. A total of 53 seats are available in NIT Kurukshetra MBA, of which 21 are considered General category candidates.
NIT Kurukshetra MBA Eligibility Criteria
A candidate should have completed a Bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of 50% marks. For SC/ST candidates, a minimum of 45% marks is required.
Candidates must also have cleared one of the following entrance exams: CAT, MAT, CMAT, or GMAT.
NIT Kurukshetra MBA Selection Criteria
Candidates are initially screened for Group Discussion (G.D.) and Personal Interview (P.I.) based on their Graduation marks and scores in CAT, MAT, CMAT, or GMAT.
Subsequently, the Institute compiles a merit list, including the names of selected candidates, considering their entrance exam scores and performance in G.D. and P.I.
In this assessment, the entrance exam score is given a weightage of 70 marks, while 30 marks are allocated for evaluating the performance in G.D. and P.I.
NIT Kurukshetra MCA Admission Process
Eligibility: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in BCA, B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), BIT, B. Voc (Computer Science/ Computer Applications), B. Tech, B.E., with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the mandatory subjects in full-time mode from any recognised university. They must have scored at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST category candidates).
Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for the National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) and secure a valid score.
Online Application: Eligible candidates must fill out the online application form available on the official website of NIT Kurukshetra. The application fee is INR 1100 for General and OBC candidates and INR 550 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Counselling and Admission: Based on the NIMCET scores, NIT Kurukshetra will release a merit list of shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling and admission.
NIT Kurukshetra MCA Eligibility Criteria
Students must secure a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or obtain a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale. SC/ST/PwD candidates require 55% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
The candidate should hold a B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), BCA, BIT, or B.Voc. (Computer Science/Computer Applications) degree from a recognized University, with a minimum duration of three years as a full-time program. The candidate's coursework must include Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects.
Alternatively, candidates with a B.E. or B.Tech. Degrees from a recognized University are also eligible.
NIT Kurukshetra MCA Selection Criteria
Candidates are initially screened for counselling based on their Graduation marks and NIMCET scores.
During the counselling session, students will have the opportunity to select their preferred course and college.
Following the counselling process, a merit list will be compiled, considering the NIMCET Rank and the choices made for colleges.
Seats will be allocated to students based on their merit in the list.
NIT Kurukshetra PhD Admission Process
Apply online Application: Online applications are invited. The application fee is Rs. 1000/- for the General/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS category and Rs. 500/- for the SC/ST/PwD category.
Upload Required Documents: Candidates must upload the required documents once they have paid the application fee. The required documents include:
A scanned copy of the mark sheet from the master's degree examination.Scanned copy of the GATE/CSIR NET/UGC NET/JEST/NBHM/KSCSTE scorecard.
A scanned copy of the provisional/final certificate of the master's degree.
A scanned copy of the research proposal.
A scanned copy of the passport-size photograph.
Entrance exam: Candidates must have valid scores in these GATE/CSIR NET/UGC NET/JEST/NBHM/KSCSTE entrance exams.
Appear for the Written Test and Interview: Once you have submitted your application form and uploaded the required documents, you will be shortlisted for the written test and interview. The respective departments/centres at NIT Trichy will conduct the written test and interview.
NIT Kurukshetra PhD Eligibility Criteria
Master's degree: Applicants must have a master's degree in the relevant field of study from a recognized university.
Minimum CGPA or percentage: Applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 6.5 (on a scale of 10) or 60% marks in their master's degree.
Qualifying exam: Applicants must also have qualified in one of the following national-level competitive examinations:
GATE
UGC-NET
CSIR-NET
DBT-JRF
ICMR-JRF
Any other national-level competitive examination approved by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India
Relaxation for specific categories of applicants:
SC/ST/OBC-NCL: Applicants belonging to the Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.), and Other Backward Classes (OBC-Non Creamy Layer) categories are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in the minimum CGPA or percentage requirement.
Persons with disabilities (PwDs): PwDs are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in the minimum CGPA or percentage requirement.
Sponsored candidates: Sponsored candidates, i.e., those employed by a government organization or industry, are eligible for a relaxation in the minimum CGPA or percentage requirement. However, they must have a minimum of two years of experience at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent as a regular employee in the sponsoring institute/university/college/organization or R&D organization/national laboratory/industry when applying for admission.
NIT Kurukshetra PhD Selection Criteria
Initially, candidates must take a Written Test conducted by the Institute.
Following the Written Test, candidates will participate in an interview.
