Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NIT Jalandhar) is a public technical university in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. It was established in 1987 as a Regional Engineering College. It received the status of a National Institute of Technology (Deemed University) from the Government of India on October 17, 2002, under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, has designated the institute as an "Institute of National Importance" under the 2007 Parliamentary Act.
