IIT Roorkee Placements

PHASE -I

To initiate the placement process, companies and organizations are sent invitations containing comprehensive information and the job annexure via email or post. The job annexure is crucial as it conveys the job profile offered to candidates, and companies are encouraged to complete it thoroughly.

Details of the job annexure are then made available to the students through Placement Online, IIT Roorkee. Subsequently, suitable dates for Pre-Placement Talks (PPT) are scheduled through collaborative discussions between the company and the Placement and internship Cell. Once confirmed, students are informed about the PPT date.

During the PPT, the company presents itself to the students and, if interested, may also conduct selections for summer internships for pre-final year students on the same day.

PHASE-II

The Placement & Internship Cell allocates a date to the company based on student rankings. This ranking considers job profile and growth prospects, offered package, past recruitment record at IIT Roorkee, and student feedback.

Interested students register online to show their willingness to be considered by the company. If required, the resumes of these students are shared with the companies to facilitate shortlisting. The list of shortlisted candidates is then sent to the Training and Placement Office before the campus selection date.

PHASE-III

On the designated date, companies visit the campus and conduct written technical/aptitude tests, group discussions, and personal interviews as part of their selection process. In cases where the company cannot physically visit the campus, the option of video conferencing is available for candidate interviews.

After completing the selection procedure, companies must promptly provide the final list of selected students. Depending on the institute's placement policy, selected students may or may not be permitted to participate in further job interviews.
