IIT Roorkee Admissions

  1. IIT Roorkee offers Admissions for various academic programs, including BTech, BTech Arc, MTech and MTech Arc MDes, MBA, MSc, MURP, and MIM PG Diploma and PhD. 
  2. Admission to the BTech and BTech Arc programs Admission is based on the scores achieved in the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations. The institute considers the GATE scores for MTech and MTech Arc, MURP, MIM, and PG Diploma Admissions. 
  3. For MDes Admissions, which is based on CEED/GATE scores. 
  4. For MBA Admissions, CAT scores are considered.
  5. As for MSc programs, candidates' admission depends on their performance in either JAM examinations.
  6. As for PhD admissions, candidates can gain entry through GATE/ JRF/ UGC NET/ GPA entrance exams and written tests and interviews. A Panel of experts conducts the interviews by IIT Roorkee.

MNIT Jaipur BTech Admission Process

  1. Take the JEE Main Examination: The JEE Main examination is conducted in a computer-based format. It is conducted in two sessions, each of 3 hours duration. The examination is held in multiple centres across the country.
  2. Apply for JoSAA Counselling: JoSAA is a centralised counselling process for admission to BTech. Courses in NITs and other centrally funded technical institutions. The application form for JoSAA counselling can be filled out online on the JoSAA website.
  3. Choose MNIT Jaipur as your Preferred Choice: In the JoSAA counselling, you can choose MNIT Jaipur as your preferred choice. Seats will be allocated based on your JEE Main rank and the preferences you indicate.
  4. Report to MNIT Jaipur for Admission: If you are allotted a seat in MNIT Jaipur, you must report to the institute for admission. The reporting dates and procedures will be mentioned in the JoSAA allotment letter.

IIT Roorkee BTech & BTech Arc Admission Process

  1. Apply for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in India. IIT Roorkee considers the JEE Advanced score for admission to the BTech BTech Arc program.
  2. Register for Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling: JoSAA is a centralized online platform for admission to all IITs. Candidates qualified for the JEE Advanced exam can register for JoSAA counselling.
  3. Choose IIT Roorkee as your preferred choice: During the JoSAA counselling, you must choose your preferred IITs and programs. Make sure to choose IIT Roorkee as your preferred choice for the BTech and BTech Arc programs.
  4. Participate in the JoSAA seat allocation rounds: JoSAA will conduct a series of seat allocation rounds. Candidates will be allotted seats based on their JEE Advanced scores and choices in each round.
  5. Report to institution: If you are allotted a seat in the BTech or BTech Arc program at IIT Roorkee, you must submit the required documents and pay the admission fee.

IIT Roorkee BTech and BTech Arc Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible for admission to IIT Roorkee's BTech programs, candidates must have completed their 10+2 Class 12 with 75% aggregate education in the Science Stream from a recognized and reputable board, with Mathematics and Physics as their primary subjects.
  2. Additionally, the institute considers the candidates' JEE Advanced scores a crucial factor in the selection process.

IIT Roorkee MTech and MTech Arc Eligibility Criteria

  1. For Bachelor's degree programs, candidates from the general category must have attained a minimum of 60% marks or a 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale. In comparison, candidates from the SC/ST/PD category should have secured a minimum of 55% marks or a 5.50 CGPA to be eligible for consideration.
  2. The eligibility mentioned above conditions apply to all regular, full-time, and part-time sponsored candidates.
  3. IIT graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10-point scale are eligible for direct admission without GATE.

IIT Roorkee MTech and MTech Arc Selection Criteria

  1. Final admission to IIT Roorkee's MTech/MArch programs is determined through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) Counselling.
  2. Seat allocation is based on GATE entrance test scores, choice preferences, seat availability, categories, and other relevant considerations.
  3. IIT Graduates with a CGPA≥8.00 are exempted from the GATE exam.

IIT Roorkee MURP Admission Process

  1. GATE score: The GATE score is mandatory for admission to MURP at IIT Roorkee. The minimum GATE score required for admission varies yearly and is based on The number of available seats. The collective performance of candidates in GATE will be considered.
  2. COAP Counselling: The seat allocation for MURP at IIT Roorkee is done through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). The COAP counselling process is conducted in several rounds.
  3. Shortlisting: The IIT Roorkee admission committee will shortlist the applicants based on their GATE score, academic performance, and work experience.

IIT Roorkee MURP Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess a BTech Arc (or its equivalent) or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engg./B. Planning from a recognized University.
  2. Minimum Marks: General, Gen-EWS, and OBC category candidates must have secured at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale in their qualifying degree. For SC/ST/PD category candidates, the minimum percentage is 55% or a CGPA of 5.50 on a 10-point scale.
  3.  Final-year students who will complete all the requirements of their qualifying examination, including back papers/supplementary, before the registration date are also eligible to apply for admission.
  4. Direct Admission for IIT Graduates: IIT graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10-point scale are eligible for direct admission without GATE.

IIT Roorkee MURP Selection Criteria

  1. Final selection: Candidates' final selection will be determined by evaluating their GATE score, academic achievements, work experience, and performance in the interview.

IIT Roorkee MBA Admission Process

  1. Application: Applicants can submit their application forms online through the official IIT Roorkee website. The application fee is INR 2000 for general candidates and INR 1000 for reserved category candidates.

  1. Application: The application process is online. Candidates can apply through the IIT Roorkee website. The application fee is INR 1000 for Indian nationals and INR 2000 for foreign nationals.
  2. Entrance Exams: Candidates must have valid scores in CEED/GATE relevant entrance exams.
  3. Selection: The selection process is based on a combination of a CEED/GATE score and a personal interview. A panel of experts from the design industry will conduct the interview.

IIT Roorkee MDes Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates must have a four-year graduate degree in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2.
  2. The minimum aggregate percentage required is 60% for the General, GEN-EWS, and OBC categories and 55% for SC/ST/PD categories.
  3. Candidates must also have a valid CEED/GATE score.

IIT Roorkee MDes Selection Criteria

  1. For the MDes. (Industrial Design) program at IIT Roorkee, final admission is determined by the candidate's valid CEED/GATE score, followed by an aptitude test and a personal interview.

IIT Roorkee MIM Admission Process

  1. Application Submission: The application portal opens in February and closes in March. The application fee is INR 300 for general candidates and INR 150 for SC/ST/PD candidates.
  2. Entrance Exams: Candidates Must have valid scores in GATE/CEED in relevant entrance exams.
  3. Shortlisting: Based on the application form and the GATE scores, shortlisted candidates are invited for a group discussion and personal interview.
  4. GD/PI: The GD/PI candidates' communication, problem-solving, and innovation management knowledge are evaluated.

IIT Roorkee MIM Eligibility Criteria

  1. A bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale.
  2. Candidates in the SC/ST/PD category must have secured 55% or 5.50 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
  3. Final-year students can apply but must submit proof of completing their degree by the specified date.

IIT Roorkee MIM Selection Criteria

  1. For the MIM (Masters in Innovation Management) program at IIT Roorkee, the final admission is based on the candidates' valid GATE score, followed by a group discussion and a personal interview.

IIT Roorkee MSc Admission process

IIT Roorkee MSc Eligibility criteria

  1. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (or CGPA of 5.5) from a recognized university. SC/ST/PwD candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks (or CGPA of 5.0).

IIT Roorkee MSc Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates for MSc. programs is done based on the following criteria:

  1. JAM score
  2. Academic performance in the qualifying degree
  3. Personal interview

IIT Roorkee PG Diploma Admission Process

  1. Application: The application process is online and can be found on the IIT Roorkee website. The application fee is INR 1000 for general category candidates and INR 500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  2. Write the GATE Exam: GATE is a national-level entrance exam for admission to MTech programs in engineering and technology.
  3. Counselling: The chosen candidates will be extended invitations for counselling sessions, where they will receive guidance and support for their upcoming academic journey. They will be allotted a seat based on their GATE score and preference.

IIT Roorkee PG Diploma Eligibility Criteria

  1. Bachelor's degree in Hydrology or MSc./MTech. from a relevant course with an aggregate of 67.5% marks for candidates from the general category and 55% for candidates from the SC/ST/PwD category.
  2. MSc. in Statistics or Mathematics with Physics and Mathematics at the Bachelor's level with an aggregate of 67.5% marks for candidates from the general category and 55% for candidates from the SC/ST/PwD category.
  3. AMIE candidates with a BSc. or diploma who have completed Sections A and B Examinations of the Institution of Engineers are also eligible with an aggregate of 67.5%. Candidates in the general category must have achieved a minimum aggregate of 65% marks. In comparison, candidates from the SC/ST/PwD category should have secured a minimum of 50% marks to be eligible for selection.

IIT Roorkee PG Diploma Selection Criteria

  1. Candidates will be initially shortlisted based on their academic performance and the institute's GATE cutoff. 
  2. Candidate selection will be conducted through COAP counselling, where GATE scores, choice preferences, seat availability, categories, and other pertinent factors will determine seat allocation.

IIT Roorkee PhD Admission Process

  1. Entrance Exams: Candidates must have valid scores in this relevant GATE/ JRF/ UGC NET/ GPAT entrance exam.
  2. Shortlisting and Interview: Candidates who qualify in the initial screening process will receive a comprehensive interview invitation, allowing them to showcase their potential and suitability for the next selection phase. A panel of experts from the department will conduct the interview.

  1. Candidates must have a master's degree with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) Or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale. Candidates having postgraduate degrees in basic science or PG degrees in Professional Courses must have qualified GATE and UGC Net scores.
