IIT Guwahati [IITG] : Scholarships

IIT Guwahati offers a variety of scholarships to its undergraduate and postgraduate students. These scholarships are allocated through a comprehensive evaluation of academic excellence, financial requirements, and additional criteria.

Here are some of the scholarships offered by IIT Guwahati:

1. Institute Merit Scholarship (IMS): This scholarship is awarded to the year-wise class toppers of all the streams in BTech/BDes/MSc/MA programs. It is granted from the second year onward.
2. Institute Merit-cum-Means (McM) Scholarships: These scholarships are awarded to up to 25% of non-SC/ST students on a merit-cum-means basis. The scholarship amount is INR 5,000 per month for the first year and INR 10,000 monthly for subsequent years.
3. SC/ST Scholarships: Scholarships will be granted to students from SC/ST categories pursuing BTech, BDes, MSc, or MA degrees, subject to specific income criteria. The scholarship amount is INR 3000 per month for the first year and INR 5000 per month for the subsequent years.
4. National Talent Scholarship (NTS): This scholarship is awarded to students who have scored at least 75% in the JEE Advanced exam. The scholarship amount is INR 2000 per month for the first year and INR 4000 monthly for subsequent years.
5. Post Graduate Scholarship (PGS): This scholarship is awarded to students with a minimum of 75% in the GATE exam. The scholarship amount is INR 10000 per month for the first year and INR 20000 monthly for subsequent years.

In addition to these scholarships, IIT Guwahati also offers several other scholarships to its students, such as the following:

1. Dean's Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who have significantly contributed to the institute in academics, sports, or extracurricular activities.
2. Student Welfare Fund Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students facing financial hardship.
