IIT Goa Admissions

  1. IIT Goa offers Admission for BTech, MTech, and PhD programs.
  2. To secure Admission into the BTech program at IIT Goa, candidates must successfully clear the JEE Main and JEE Advance examinations and register for the JoSAA counselling process. 
  3. For MTech Admissions, Candidates must possess a valid GATE score. 
  4. PhD Admission requires a valid GATE score, a written examination, and an interview. The panel of experts conducts the interviews By IIT Goa.

IIT Goa BTech Admission Process

  1. Take the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains: The JEE Mains is a national-level entrance exam for Admission to engineering colleges in India.
  2. Apply for JEE Advanced: JEE Advanced is the national-level entrance exam for Admission to BTech in IITs. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the application process for JEE Advanced.
  3. Participate in JoSAA Counselling: After the JEE Advanced results are announced, candidates must participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process. In this process, candidates will be allotted a seat in their desired IIT based on their JEE Advanced score, preferences, and availability of seats.
  4. Pay the Admission Fee: Upon being granted a seat at IIT Goa, candidates must submit the admission fee to confirm enrollment.

IIT Goa BTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. The candidate must have successfully graduated from the 12th standard. Examination with compulsory subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology or Computer Science.
  2. The candidate must have scored a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in the 12th standard examination or must be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board examination. Reserved category candidates must score 65% aggregate marks in the 12th standard examination or equivalent from a recognized board.

IIT Goa BTech Selection Criteria

  1. The selection is based on the JEE Advanced examination score.
  2. Candidates are shortlisted based on their JEE Advanced rank.
  3. The ultimate merit list is formulated by considering the JEE Advanced ranking and adhering to the Government of India's reservation policy.

IIT Goa MTech Admission Process

  1. Apply for GATE: The initial step involves applying for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination. The GATE exam is a national-level entrance exam for Admission to MTech programs in India. 
  2. Apply for MTech at IIT Goa: Once you have qualified for the GATE exam, you can apply for MTech at IIT Goa through the Common Offer Admission Process (COAP). The COAP portal is opened every year after the GATE results are announced.
  3. Shortlisting: IIT Goa will shortlist candidates for MTech based on their GATE scores and the availability of seats.
  4. Interview: Selected candidates will receive interview invitations, and a committee of faculty members from IIT Goa will conduct the ensuing interviews.

IIT Goa MTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. The candidate must have a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university, attaining a minimum aggregate score of 60% (or 55% for SC/ST/PWD candidates), or a cumulative grade point average (CPI) of 6.0 (or 5.5 for SC/ST/PWD candidates) out of 10.

IIT Goa MTech Selection Criteria

  1. Final Selection: Based on the GATE scores, interview performance, and other factors, IIT Goa will select candidates for MTech.

IIT Goa PhD Admission Process

  1. Apply online: The application process is online. You can apply through the IIT Goa website.
  2. Submit the Application Fee: The application fee is INR 1000 for Indian nationals and INR 2000 for foreign nationals.
  3. GATE Scores: The candidate should have a valid GATE score. The minimum GATE score requirement varies depending on the specialization.
  4. Upload the Required Documents: The required documents include:
  • A copy of your undergraduate and postgraduate degree certificates
  • A copy of your mark sheets
  • A research proposal
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A statement of purpose
  1. Write the Entrance Exam: IIT Goa conducts an entrance exam for PhD admission. 
  2. Shortlist and Interview: The IIT Goa, PhD Admissions Committee will shortlist interview candidates based on the entrance exam score and application documents. 

IIT Goa PhD Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible, candidates should possess a Master's degree in Science or its equivalent, with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks or a minimum CGPA/CPI of 5.5 on a scale 10. In cases where scales differ from a 10-point system, the equivalent proportional requirements will apply.

IIT Goa PhD Selection Criteria
