IIIT Agartala [IIITA] : Scholarships

IIIT Agartala, a new institute, does not provide any scholarships to its students. However, students are strongly encouraged to apply for different state and central scholarship programs. These programs include separate scholarships for students belonging to the SC/ST/economically backward category. Students with exceptional academic performance can also apply for merit cum means scholarships offered by the state or central government. The following are some examples of state and central scholarships:

1. Merit cum means scholarship provided by the institute to deserving students.
2. Post-matric scholarship schemes for minorities, administered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
3. Post-matric scholarship for students with disabilities, provided by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
4. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Executed a top-class education scheme for SC students.
5. Central Scheme of scholarship for college and university students, administered by the Department of Higher Education.

Students from various states come to IIIT Agartala to pursue their B.Tech. Degrees and have applied for different state and central scholarships. To be eligible for SC/ST scholarships, students must have an annual family income below Rs 4.5 lakh. For merit-based scholarships, students must have a strong academic record that meets the required score for receiving the scholarship. Although the institute does not provide scholarships, students are still encouraged and supported to apply for various state and central government scholarships. In addition to scholarships, students can explore educational loans offered by various banks to meet their financial needs.
