Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies BA LLB Admission Process

  1. Check the Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for admission to BILS are as follows: 
    1. Applicants must have completed the 10+2 examination, with English as a mandatory subject. 
    2. Candidates must have achieved a minimum aggregate score of 45% in the 10+2 examination. 
  2. Download the Application Form: The application form for BILS can be downloaded from the college website.
  3. Fill out the Application Form: The application form must be filled in carefully and accurately. Candidates are expected to submit the following documents along with the application form.
    1. Scanned copy of your 10th and 12th class mark sheets
    2. Scanned copy of your passport-size photograph
    3. A scanned copy of your signature
    4. Caste certificate (if applicable)
  4. Submit the Application Form: The application form is acceptable either through online submission or by postal mail.
  5. Attend the Entrance Examination: BILS will conduct an entrance examination for all the applicants. The entrance examination will be held in July.
  6. Merit List: Candidates selected for further consideration will be invited to attend a counselling session. The merit list will be created according to the candidate's performance in the entrance examination.
  7. Counselling: The counselling will be held on the college campus. The applicants will be allotted seats based on their merit and preference.
  8. Submit the Admission Fee: After being allotted a seat, Candidates must submit the admission fee. 
  9. Join the College: Once Candidates have submitted the admission fee, they can join the college. The academic year at BILS begins in July.

Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies BA LLB Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants who have completed their Pre-University course, Senior Secondary School Course ('+2'), or an equivalent qualification, such as '11 + 1' or 'A' level in the Senior School Leaving Certificate Course, from a recognised University in India or abroad, a Senior Secondary Board, or an equivalent institution recognised by the Union or State Government are eligible to apply for admission into the course. 
  • Additionally, candidates from foreign countries may apply if their respective governments recognise their qualifications for issuing qualifying certificates upon completing the course.
  • Furthermore, those who have obtained a '+2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate' or a 'First Degree Certificate' through distance or correspondence education are also considered eligible for admission.
  •  However, applicants who have acquired a 10+2, graduation, or post-graduation qualification through open university systems directly, with the necessary foundational qualifications, are eligible for admission.

Minimum Qualifying Examination Marks: The minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination should not be less than 45% (or 44.5%, which is treated as 45%) of the total marks for general category applicants and 40% (or 39.5%, which is treated as 40%) of the total marks for SC and ST applicants.

Age Limit: General category applicants must be below the age of twenty, while applicants from SC, ST, and other backward communities must be below the age of Twenty-two as of June 1st, to be eligible for admission.
