Established in 1984, Vellore Institute of Technology (Also known as VIT Vellore or VIT University) is a private research university located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The institute is recognized as an Institution of Eminence and the No. 1 private university for Innovation as recognized by the Government of India. It is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited with an A++ Grade by the NAAC. The institute has been ranked by renowned international ranking bodies, including QS World Ranking. VIT Vellore is ranked 22 in the 'Asian University Rankings - Southern Asia' and 173 in the 'Asian University Rankings' of the QS World Rankings 2024.
