NIT Mizoram : Scholarships

The National Institute of Technology Mizoram (NIT Mizoram) provides its students with various scholarships and financial aid. These scholarships are offered based on academic merit, financial need, and other criteria. Some of the scholarships offered by NIT Mizoram include:

1. Top-Class Education Scheme for SC Students: This scholarship is offered to Scheduled Caste (SC) students who have secured a top-class position in the qualifying examination. The scholarship amount is Rs. 2,000 monthly for MTech students and Rs. 2,500 for MTech students.
2. Top Class Education Scheme for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students: This scholarship is offered to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified Tribes (DNT) students who have secured a top-class position in the qualifying examination. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1,000 monthly for MTech students and Rs. 1,500 for MTech students.
3. National Overseas Scholarship for ST candidates: This scholarship is offered to Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates selected to pursue higher studies abroad. The scholarship amount covers tuition fees, living expenses, and travel expenses.
4. Siemens Scholarship Program: This scholarship is offered to deserving students from low-income families. The scholarship amount is Rs. 50,000 per year.
5. Scholarship Program Foundation for Excellence: This scholarship is offered to deserving students from the North-Eastern region of India. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1,000 monthly for MTech students and Rs. 1,500 for MTech students.
6. Indus Towers Scholarship Program: This scholarship is offered to students with disabilities pursuing education in recognised Institutes of National Importance (INI) located in North-East India. The scholarship amount is Rs. 50,000 per year.
