NIT Jamshedpur Scholarships
NIT Jamshedpur offers a variety of scholarships to students from different backgrounds. These scholarships are based on merit, means, and other criteria. Some of the scholarships offered by NIT Jamshedpur are:
- Merit Cum Means Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who have a high academic record and are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1000/- per month for hostellers and Rs. 700/- per month for day scholars.
- OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarships (OPJEMS): This scholarship is awarded to engineering or management students. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1500/- per month for hostellers and Rs. 1000/- per month for day scholars.
- NTPC scholarship for engineering students: This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing engineering courses. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1500/- per month.
- CDIF Scholarship Program TATA CUMMINS: This scholarship is awarded to engineering or management students. The scholarship amount is Rs. 2000/- per month for hostellers and Rs. 1500/- per month for day scholars.
- National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation: This scholarship is awarded to physically challenged students. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1000/- per month for hostellers and Rs. 700/- per month for day scholars.
- Indian Oil Educational Scholarship Scheme: This scholarship is awarded to students who are pursuing engineering courses. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1500/- per month for hostellers and Rs. 1000/- per month for day scholars.
In addition to these scholarships, NIT Jamshedpur also offers several other financial assistance schemes, such as:
- Free education for SC/ST students: SC/ST students are eligible for free education at NIT Jamshedpur.
- Fee waiver for OBC students: OBC students are eligible for a fee waiver of up to 50% at NIT Jamshedpur.
- Hostel subsidy: Students can avail of a monthly hostel subsidy of Rs. 100/-.
- Mess subsidy: Students can avail of a mess subsidy of Rs. 50/- per month.
