IIT Jammu Admissions
- IIT Jammu offers Admissions for various programs, including BTech, MTech, MBA and PhD.
- To secure admission for the BTech at IIT Jammu, applicants must clear the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams and register for the JoSAA counselling process.
- For MTech Admissions, Candidates must possess a valid GATE score.
- To secure Admission for an MBA, Candidates must possess a valid CAT Score.
- Admission into the PhD program involves a valid GATE score / UGC/CSIR-JRF/GPAT/ NBHM or equivalent entrance exams and a combination of a written examination and an interview conducted by the IIT Jammu Panel of Experts.
IIT Jammu BTech Admission Process
- Qualify JEE Main and JEE Advanced: Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for both the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations. to be eligible for admission to IIT Jammu.
- Register for JoSAA Counselling: Once qualified for JEE Advanced, you must register for JoSAA counselling. JoSAA is a centralised counselling process conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for admissions.
- Choose IIT Jammu as Your Preference: During JoSAA counselling, you must choose IIT Jammu as one of your preferences. The seats at IIT Jammu are allocated based on your JEE Advanced rank and your preference for courses and colleges.
- Get allotted a Seat: If you are allotted a seat at IIT Jammu, you must accept the seat and pay the admission fee.
IIT Jammu BTech Eligibility Criteria
- You must have passed Class XII with at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- You must have secured a JEE Advanced rank within the cutoff range for IIT Jammu.
IIT Jammu BTech Selection Criteria
- Selection will primarily depend on the JEE Advanced rank.
- Any vacant seats will be allocated to candidates with higher JEE Advanced scores during the subsequent rounds of counselling.
IIT Jammu MTech Admission Process
- Application: Candidates need to apply online
- Apply for the GATE exam or any Other National-Level Entrance Exam: The first step is to apply for the GATE exam or any other national-level entrance exam that IIIT Jammu accepts for M.Tech admissions.
- Participate in CCMT Counselling: The CCMT counselling will be held in two phases. In the first phase, you will be allowed a seat in participating institutes based on your GATE score and choices. In the second phase, you can change your seat if you are satisfied with your initial allotment.
- Shortlisting: The applications will be shortlisted based on the GATE score and the qualifying degree percentage.
- Counselling: Those selected will receive an invitation for counselling. In the counselling, candidates will be allotted a seat based on their GATE score, qualifying degree percentage, and program preference.
IIT Jammu MTech Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates should have BE/BTech/AMIE in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- General category candidates should have a minimum of 65% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale. A relaxation of 5% will be given to the SC/ST/OBC- NCL/PWD/EWS candidates.
- Candidates should have a valid scorecard for GATE.
IIT Jammu MTech Selection Criteria
- The selection criteria for MTech admission at IIT Jammu is based on a valid GATE score.
- Candidates should have a GATE score higher than the Institute's set cutoff.
- Further, shortlisted candidates will be assessed based on a technical round of written tests/interviews as the principal criterion.
IIT Jammu Dual Degree [BTech+MBA] Admission Process
- The students must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced.
- The students must secure a rank in the JEE Advanced within the cutoff range for the dual degree program. The IIT Jammu and IIM Jammu determine the cutoff range.
- The students will be shortlisted based on their JEE Advanced rank and academic performance in the qualifying examinations.
- The shortlisted students will be called for a personal interview and a group discussion.
IIT Jammu Dual Degree [BTech+MBA] Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have passed the JEE (Advanced) exam with a minimum of 75% marks in the 12th standard.
- Applicants should have achieved at least 60% marks in the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) during their 12th standard.
IIT Jammu Dual Degree [BTech+MBA] Selection Criteria
- The selection process will comprise two phases:
- Shortlisting candidates based on their JEE (Advanced) rank and NMAT score.
- Personal Interview (PI) and Group Discussion (GD).
IIT Jammu MBA [HA&HM] Admission Process
- CAT Examination: The CAT score is the most essential factor in the admission process.
- Shortlisting for Personal Interview: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) based on their CAT score. The cutoff for the PI will be announced later.
- Personal Interview: The PI is a 30-minute interview to assess the candidate's communication skills, analytical abilities, and fit for the program.
- Profile Score: The Profile Score is based on the candidate's academic record, work experience, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.
- Merit List: The ultimate merit list will be compiled considering the CAT, PI, and Profile scores.
IIT Jammu MBA [HA&HM] Eligibility Criteria
- In order to meet the eligibility requirements, the Applicant needs to have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution, with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. Any field from a recognised university or institution with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
- A valid CAT score
- The minimum CAT percentile required for General Category candidates is 85%. The minimum CAT percentile required for SC/ST/PwD candidates is 75%.
- The minimum GMAT score required is 650.
IIT Jammu MBA [HA&HM] Selection Criteria
- The MBA (HA & HM) program selection process at IIT Jammu is based on the CAT examination.
- The ultimate merit list is compiled based on the Applicant's CAT, PI, and Profile scores.
IIT Jammu PhD Admission Process
- Apply Online: The application process is online. The application fee is INR 1000.
- Submit Documents: Candidates must submit the following documents along with their application:
- Proof of identity and nationality
- Educational transcripts
- GATE/NET scorecard (if applicable)
- Research proposal
- Two letters of recommendation
- Attend Entrance Exams: Candidates must have a valid GATE score / UGC/CSIR-JRF/GPAT/ NBHM in these relevant entrance exams.
- Shortlist: The applications will be shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria and the documents submitted.
- Interview: Selected candidates will receive an invitation for an interview. The interview process will be overseen by a group of faculty members hailing from IIT Jammu.
IIT Jammu PhD Eligibility Criteria
- Possession of a Master's degree (earned following a Bachelor's degree achieved in a 10+2+3 format, followed by a master's degree) or a 5-year Integrated Master's Degree (completed after finishing higher secondary schooling in a 10+2 pattern) in any field, with a minimum of 60% marks in both the Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
- Attainment of a four-year/8-semester Bachelor's degree (in a 10+2+4 format) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 or equivalent marks.
IIT Jammu PhD Selection Criteria
- The selection criteria for PhD admission at IIT Jammu is based on a Department-Based Test followed by Academic Performance, Work Experience, and Interview.
- GATE score / UGC/CSIR-JRF/GPAT/ NBHM, qualified candidates are also eligible for PhD Admission.
