IIT BHU Varanasi : Admissions

1. (IIT BHU), Varanasi offers Admissions for Programs like BTech, BTech Arc, MTech, BTech+MTech, and PhD programmes.
2. Admission to the BTech. The program relies on the candidate's JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. Candidates aspiring to pursue BTech Arch. They are selected based on their valid JEE Advanced or NATA scores. 
3. For the Integrated program BTech+MTech, The admissions are based on the JEE Advance Scores.
4.  For MTech courses, the candidate's performance in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), a nationally recognized assessment

1. JEE Examinations: The JEE examination is conducted in two phases: JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Candidates must qualify for both phases to be eligible for admission to IIT Varanasi.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology (BTech.) or an equivalent qualification in a related field from a recognized university, with a minimum overall score of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale. The minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates are 55% or a CGPA of 5.0.
2. The candidate must have qualified in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) with a minimum GATE score as prescribed by the Department/School concerned.

1.  Candidates will be selected based on their educational qualifications, GATE score, and personal interview.

1. Application: The Integrated dual degree BTech+MTech program application form will be available online on the IIT Varanasi website. The application form must be submitted online along with the required documents.
2.  Apply for the JEE Advanced exam: The JEE Advanced is a national-level entrance exam for admission to the IITs and other top engineering colleges in India. 
3. Qualify for the JEE Advanced exam: The cut-off for the IIT Varanasi Integrated dual degree BTech+MTech program is usually around the 99.5 percentile.
4. Register for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling: JoSAA is the central authority that conducts the counselling for admission to all the IITs and other participating institutes. 
5. Participate in the JoSAA counselling: The JoSAA counselling will be held in a round-robin format. You will be allotted a seat in each round based on rank, choices, and availability.

1. Completing 10+2 education from a recognized board of education with compulsory subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and an aggregate of at least 60%.

For non-GATE/JEE Advanced candidates:

1. Attainment of at least 80% marks or a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 8.5 in the 10+2 examination is mandatory.

1. The first stage will be the JEE Advanced examination. The eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their JEE Advanced rank.
2. The second stage will be the IIT Varanasi Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. The shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling, where they will be allotted a seat in the program based on their JEE Advanced rank, their choice of specialization, and the availability of seats.

1. Apply for JEE Advanced: The first step is to apply for JEE Advanced, a national-level entrance exam for engineering admissions in India. 
2.  JEE Advanced: To be eligible for admission to BTech Arc at IIT Varanasi, you must clear JEE Advanced with a good rank. 
3. Register for JoSAA counselling: Once you have cleared JEE Advanced, you must register for JoSAA counselling. JoSAA is a centralized online platform for admission to all IITs and NITs.
4. Choose IIT Varanasi as your first preference: In JoSAA counselling, you must choose IIT Varanasi as your first preference for BTech Arc. If you are allotted a seat at IIT Varanasi, you will be admitted to the BTech Arc program.
5. Submit the required documents: Once allotted a seat at IIT Varanasi, you must submit the required documents for admission. 

1. Must have passed the 12th standard examination with a minimum of 75% aggregate from a recognized board.
2. Must have qualified for the JEE Advanced exam with a valid Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) rank.
3. Must have a valid National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) exam score.

1. The candidate must have a valid rank in the JEE Advanced exam.
2. The final selection of candidates is based on their JEE Advanced rank and AAT score.

1. JAM Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear and qualify for the IIT JAM entrance exam. The exam is held every year on a rotational basis for different disciplines. The exam is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT).
2. Merit List: The IIT JAM scores of the eligible candidates are used to prepare a merit list. The top candidates on the merit list are called for counselling.
3. CCMN Counselling: Candidates are called for counselling based on their rank on the merit list. In counselling, candidates are given the option to choose their preferred program and institute.
4. Admission: Candidates must accept the offer and pay the admission fee within the stipulated period.

1. The final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the IIT JAM, the counselling/ interview, and the availability of seats.

1. Qualification Options: Candidates can qualify through exams like GATE, GPAT, NET-LS, CSIR, UGC NET JRF, ICMR JRF, DBT-JRF, or DST-INSPIRE fellowship. Those not appearing for the mentioned exams must take the college's written test.
2. Written Test and Interview: Applicants still taking the specified exams must attend the college's written test. Shortlisted candidates of their qualifications proceed to the next stage, the personal interview.
3. Document Verification and Fee Payment: Candidates must submit their documents for verification following the selection process. Candidates must fulfil the final step by paying the IIT BHU Varanasi admission fees.

1. For a Master's degree in the pertinent discipline, a minimum of 60% or a Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.0 is required. For a bachelor's degree in the pertinent discipline, a minimum of 75% or a Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 7.5 is required.

1. The initial screening of applications is based on the academic record, research proposal, and GATE/GPAT or relevant entrance exam score.
2. The shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. A panel of experts in the relevant discipline will conduct the interview.
