IIT Bhilai Admissions

  1. The institute offers Admission for various Programmes like BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD programs. 
  2. For BTech Admissions, the college evaluates applicants based on their performance in JEE Advanced. 
  3. The candidates' Scores in the JAM examination determine the MSc courses' admission. 
  4. For MTech Admissions, students are admitted based on their GATE scores. PhD Admissions involve a valid GATE score, a written test, and a personal interview. A panel of experts conducts the interviews by IIT Bhilai.

IIT Bhilai BTech Admission Process

  1. Apply for JEE Main and JEE Advanced: The application forms for these exams are available on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website. The application fee for JEE Main is INR 1,000 for general category candidates and INR 800 for female and SC/ST candidates. The application fee for JEE Advanced is INR 2,500 for general category candidates and INR 1,500 for female and SC/ST candidates.
  2. Write the JEE Main and JEE Advanced Exams: The JEE Main exam is a two-stage exam, with the first stage being the Preliminary Examination and the second being the Main Examination. The JEE Advanced exam is a single-stage exam.
  3. The Qualified Applicants will be Shortlisted for the JoSAA Counselling: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is a centralised admission process for all IITs.Shortlisted candidates will have the chance to participate in the JoSAA counselling process, during which they will be assigned a seat at one of the IITs according to their JEE Advanced scores and preferences.

IIT Bhilai BTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible for admission, a candidate must have completed their 12th standard examination with compulsory subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. 
  2. Additionally, Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in or be ranked in the top 20 percentile in their 12th Class Examination conducted by their respective boards. For Aspirants belonging to the SC/ST category, there is a 5% relaxation in this criterion.
  3. The candidate must have appeared and qualified in the JEE Advanced examination.

IIT Bhilai BTech Selection Criteria

  1. The Applicant who has qualified for JEE Advanced will be eligible for admission to IIT Bhilai.
  2. The applicants will be ranked depending on their JEE Advanced score.

IIT Bhilai MTech Admission Process

  1. Please apply online: To apply for admission to IIT Bhilai, candidates can submit their application through the institute's official website.
  2. Pay the application fee: The application fee can be paid through SBI Collect. The fee details are as follows:
    1. General/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates: Rs. 200/-
    2. SC/ST/PWD/female candidates: Rs. 100/-
  3. Upload the Required Documents: The following documents must be uploaded along with the application form:
    1. Photograph
    2. Scanned copy of the qualifying degree certificate
    3. Scanned copy of the GATE scorecard
    4. Category certificate (if applicable)
    5. Work experience certificate (if applicable).
  4. Finalise the Application: Once all the required information and documents have been submitted, the application can be finalised.
  5. Entrance Exam: The candidates must have valid GATE scores.
  6. Written Test/Interview: Shortlisted candidates will receive an invitation to participate in a written test and interview as part of the selection process. Information about the test/interview, including the date and venue, will promptly be provided to the candidates.

IIT Bhilai MTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible for admission, an applicant must have completed a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent and achieved a first-class standing.
  2. Valid GATE score in the relevant discipline.

IIT Bhilai MTech Selection Criteria

  1. Applicant are shortlisted based on their GATE score and earlier academic performance.
  2. The shortlisted candidates are then invited for a written test/interview.
  3. The final selection depends on the written test/interview performance.

IIT Bhilai MSc Admission Process

  1. Application Process: Apply through the IIT Bhilai website. 
  2. Required Documents: Upload the Documents, such as your photograph, mark sheets, degree certificate, etc.
  3. Pay the Application Fee: The application fee is INR 1000 for applicants in the general category and INR 500 for those in reserved categories.
  4. Appear for the Joint Admission Test for Master of Science (JAM): JAM is a national-level entrance exam for admission to MSc programs in IITs and other top institutes. 
  5. Shortlisted candidates for admission to IIT Bhilai will be invited to take part in a written test and interview. The specific date and time for the test/interview will be announced later. The final admission decision will consider the candidate's performance in the JAM exam, written test/interview, and academic achievements.

IIT Bhilai MSc Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible for admission, the Applicant must have completed a degree equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and achieved a minimum score of 55%(50% for SC/ST candidates).
  2. The candidate must have appeared and qualified for the IIT JAM exam in the relevant discipline.

IIT Bhilai MSc Selection Criteria

  1. The final selection will be based on the IIT JAM score and the candidate's performance in the interview.

IIT Bhilai PhD Admission Process

  1. The candidate must apply online through the IIT Bhilai website.
  2. The application fee is INR 200 for general candidates and INR 100 for SC/ST/PwD/female candidates.
  3. The candidate must upload the following documents along with the application form:
    1. Scanned copy of the qualifying degree certificate
    2. Scanned copy of the mark sheets of all semesters
    3. Scanned copy of the GATE scorecard (if applicable)
    4. Two letters of recommendation
  4. The applications are shortlisted based on the GATE score and research proposal.
  5. The shortlisted candidates are called for an interview.
  6. The candidate's performance during the interview determines the final admission decision.

IIT Bhilai PhD Eligibility Criteria

  1. The candidate must have completed a Master's degree in Engineering or Technology with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
  2. The Applicant should have a valid GATE score or have qualified in NET (CSIR/UGC)/NBHM or an equivalent examination.
  3. The candidate must have demonstrated excellent academic performance and potential for research.

IIT Bhilai PhD Selection Criteria

  1. Initial screening: The applications are first screened based on the educational qualifications and GATE score.
  2. Shortlist: The shortlisted candidates are then invited to appear for an interview.
  3. Selection: The candidates are selected based on their interview and research proposal performance.

IIT Bhilai Admissions Required Documents

  1. A photograph
  2. Aadhar card
  3. Entrance exam scorecard
  4. Academic certificates of class 10 and class 12
  5. Reference letters from at least two people
  6. Completion certificate for an undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree
  7. Mark sheets of all semesters or Consolidated mark sheets of the qualifying degree. Candidates awaiting the results must upload their latest/previous semester mark sheets.
  8. Certificate of caste (OBC-NCL/SC/ST), if applicable.
