Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy (PIP) offers admission to two courses:

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)
  • Master of Physiotherapy (MPT)

Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy Admission Process

The Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy admission process is as follows:

Step 1: Apply Online

Visit the Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy website and click the "Admissions" tab. Then, click on the "Apply Online" button. Fill out the online application form and submit it with the required documents.

Step 2: Shortlisting

Based on the Candidate's eligibility and application form, they will be shortlisted for the next round of the admission process.

Step 3: Entrance Exam

Candidates are required to take an entrance exam conducted by the institute. The entrance exam will consist of physics, chemistry, biology, and English questions.

Step 4: Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview with the institute's admission committee. The interview will be to assess your overall suitability for the physiotherapy program.

Step 5: Selection

Based on the Candidates' performance in the entrance exam and interview, Candidates will be selected for admission to the Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy.

Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy BPT Admission Process

Step 1: Check the Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate should have completed the 12th standard examination with compulsory subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • The candidate must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in the 12th standard examination.

Step 2: Apply for the Entrance Exam

Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy (PIP) accepts admissions based on the following entrance exams:

  • Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET)
  • All India Physiotherapy Entrance Examination (AIPET)

Step 3: Apply for Admission to PIP

Once the candidate has appeared for the entrance exam and secured a qualifying rank, they can apply for admission to PIP. The application process is usually conducted online. The candidate must submit the following documents:

  • Entrance exam scorecard
  • 12th standard mark sheet
  • Transfer certificate
  • Character certificate
  • Medical certificate

Step 4: Attend the Counseling Process

PIP conducts a counselling process for all eligible applicants. The candidate will be allotted a seat based on their entrance exam rank and the availability of seats.

Step 5: Pay the Admission Fee

Once the candidate has been allotted a seat, they must pay the admission fee. The fee structure for the BPT course at PIP is available on the college website.

Step 6: Enroll for the BPT course

Once the admission fee has been paid, the candidate will be enrolled for the BPT course. The course commences in July/August every year.

Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy BPT Eligibility Criteria

To secure admission to the first year of the Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BPT) program, candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

Option 1: Pre-University Examination (PUC) Route

Candidates should have completed the two-year Pre-University examination conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State. The following criteria must be met:

  • English should be one of the subjects.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Biology should be chosen as selected subjects.
  • The candidate must have passed English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as separate subjects.

Option 2: Equivalent Examinations Route

Candidates who have passed examinations conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate examinations established by the State Government/Central Government and recognised as equivalent to a two-year Pre-University Examination by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences or Association of Indian Universities (AIU) are eligible. The following criteria apply:

  • English must be one of the subjects.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Biology must be opted for as selected subjects.
  • The candidate must have passed English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as individual subjects.

Option 3: Vocational Physiotherapy Route

Candidates who have successfully finished the Pre-University course with Vocational Physiotherapy as their chosen subject are eligible for admission to the BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) course.

Lateral Entry to III Year:

Lateral entry to the third year of the 4½-year BPT course is available for candidates who have completed the DPT course conducted by the paramedical board.

Marks Requirement:

Admission to the BPT course is merit-based, and candidates must meet the following marks criteria:

  • For General Candidates: A minimum score of 45% combined in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination.
  • For Candidates Belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Category I: A minimum of 40% aggregate score in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined in the qualifying examination.

Age Requirement:

Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy course should have attained 17 years of age by December 31st of the admission year.

Medical Fitness:

  • Before admission, every candidate must provide a medical fitness certificate from an authorised Government Medical Officer. 
  • This certificate confirms the candidate's physical fitness to undertake the Physiotherapy course.

Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy MPT Admission Process

Step 1: Check Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) degree from a recognised university with a minimum aggregated marks of 50%.
  • Valid National Eligibility Entrance Exam (NEET-PG) score.

Step 2: Apply Online

The application form for the MPT program at Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy (PIP) is usually released in October. Applicants can apply online through the PIP website.

Step 3: Submit Application Fee

 Applicants can pay the fee online or by demand draft.

Step 4: Appear for NEET-PG

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducts the NEET-PG exam in November. Applicants must secure a minimum qualifying score in the NEET-PG exam to be eligible for admission to the MPT program at PIP.

Step 5: Wait for the Merit List

PIP will release a merit list based on the NEET-PG scores of the applicants. Applicants qualified for the merit list will be invited for an interview.

Step 6: Attend the Interview

A panel of experts from PIP will conduct the interview. Applicants will be asked about their academic performance, motivation for pursuing the MPT program, and career goals.

Step 7: Receive Admission Offer

Applicants who have cleared the interview will be offered admission to the MPT program at PIP. Applicants must accept the offer of admission and submit the required documents to complete the admission process.

Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy MPT Eligibility Criteria

Candidates holding a B.Sc. (PT) or BPT degree minimum of 3½ years, obtained from RGUHS or any recognised university in India or abroad, are eligible for lateral entry. The following criteria apply:

  • A minimum score of 50% aggregated marks is required.
  • Candidates must complete a six-month rotating internship at a recognised Physiotherapy College.
