NIT Andhra Pradesh BTech Admission Process
- Appear for JEE Main: All candidates aspiring to BTech at NIT Andhra Pradesh must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. JEE Main is a nationwide entrance examination administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The institute offers a 4 year long BTech program under 8 specialisations.
- Apply for JoSAA or CSAB Counselling: Once qualified for JEE Main, you must apply for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. JoSAA is a centralised counselling process for admission to various engineering colleges in India, including NIT Andhra Pradesh.
- Select Your Preferred Colleges and Courses: In the JoSAA application form, you must select your preferred colleges and courses. You can select up to 100 colleges and courses in the order of your preference.
- Lock Your Choices: Once you have selected your preferred colleges and courses, you must lock your choices. Once you have locked your choices, you cannot change your application.
- Participate in JoSAA Counselling: JoSAA counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. In each round, you will be allotted a seat based on your JEE Main rank, your preferences, and the availability of seats.
- Accept Your Seat: If you are allotted a seat in a round of JoSAA counselling, you must accept the seat within the stipulated period. You must accept the seat to be considered for subsequent rounds of counselling.
- Report to the Allotted College: Once you have accepted your seat, you must report to the allotted college on the specified date. You must carry all the required documents, such as your JEE Main admit Card, scorecard, and class 12th mark sheet.
NIT Andhra Pradesh BTech Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification:
- Completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects as optional.
- Scored a minimum of 45% marks in each of the subjects (40% marks in case of the reserved category)
Requisite Exam:
- Qualified in JEE Mains with a minimum percentile as specified by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) or Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)

NIT Andhra Pradesh MTech Admission Process
- Appear for GATE and Score a Valid GATE Score: The GATE score is required for all MTech applicants at NIT Andhra Pradesh. The minimum GATE score required varies depending on the program and category. The institute offers 6 specialisations under the MTech course.
- Register for CCMT Counselling: CCMT (Centralized Counselling for MTech) is a centralised counselling process for admission to MTech programs at NITs and other participating institutes. To register for CCMT counselling, visit the CCMT website and create an account.
- Fill out the CCMT Application Form: The CCMT application form will require details, academic qualifications, GATE score, and preferred programs and institutes.
- Lock Your Choices: Once you have completed the CCMT application form, you must lock your choices. In order of preference, you must finalise the programs and institutes you are interested in.
- Participate in CCMT Counselling: CCMT will conduct multiple rounds of counselling. In each round, candidates will be allotted seats based on their GATE score, preferred choices, and the availability of seats.
- GATE Score: Candidates with a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline are eligible for admission. The GATE score is the primary criterion for admission, and candidates are ranked based on their GATE score.
- Institute Entrance Exam: Candidates who do not have a valid GATE score can appear for NIT Andhra Pradesh's entrance exam. The entrance exam will test the candidate's knowledge in the relevant field. The institute will decide the weightage given to the entrance exam and GATE score based on the number of applicants and the candidates' academic performance.

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology (BE/B.Tech.) or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5/10 from a recognised university or institution.
- The minimum mark requirement for SC/ST candidates is 55% or a CGPA of 6.0/10.

- Fill out the Online Application Form: The online application form will open. Fill in all the required details carefully, including your personal information, educational qualifications, work experience, and research interests.

- Pay the Application Fee: Pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PwD candidates) through the online payment gateway provided on the application portal. Save the payment receipt for future reference.
- Submit the Application: Once you have completed filling out the application form, uploading documents, and paying the fee, click the "Submit" button. Your application will be submitted successfully.
- Receive Application Number: You will receive an email confirmation with your application number. Keep this number for future reference.
- Attend Written Test and Interview (if shortlisted): You will be invited for a written test and interview if shortlisted based on your application. The written test will assess your knowledge and aptitude in the chosen research area. The interview will evaluate your research proposal, interests, and overall suitability for the program.
- Receive Admission Offer (if selected): If selected after the written test and interview, you will receive an admission offer letter from NIT Andhra Pradesh. Accept the offer and complete the registration process to secure your admission.

- Candidates must have completed their graduation in the relevant field.
