IIT Tirupati Admissions

  1. IIT Tirupathi offers Admission for various programs, including BTech, MTech, MS, MSc and PhD.
  2.  For BTech Admissions, Candidates must complete the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examination, which is mandatory for those aspiring to join the BTech program—followed by JoSSA Counselling.  
  3. For the MSc.Admissions rely on JAM results. 
  4. Candidates aspiring to enrol for MTech and MS programs must undertake the GATE examination.
  5. For the PhD program, candidates also have the option to appear for the UGC/CSIR-NET/NBHM examination as an alternative to GATE.and candidates have to attend written tests and personal interviews conducted by a panel of experts in IIT Tirupathi.

IIT Tirupati BTech Admission Process

  1. Apply For JEE Main: Applicants must have successfully cleared the JEE Main Examination.
  2. Apply for JEE Advanced: The JEE Advanced is a nationwide entrance examination designed for Admission into BTech programs offered by IITs and other prestigious engineering institutions across India. 
  3. Register for JoSAA Counselling: JoSAA is the centralised admission process for BTech programs in India's IITs and other top engineering colleges. You must register for JoSAA counselling after getting a valid JEE Advanced score.
  4. Choose IIT Tirupati as your Preferred College: You must choose IIT Tirupati as your preferred college in the JoSAA counselling process.
  5. Get allotted a seat at IIT Tirupati: If you have a high enough JEE Advanced score and choose IIT Tirupati, Upon selection, you will be assigned a seat in the BTech program of your preference at the chosen college.

IIT Tirupati BTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. Completing the 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks or placement in the top 20 percentile in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, one language, and other subjects.
  2. Successful completion of the JEE Main exam with a minimum of 75% marks for candidates from the general category and 65% for candidates from reserved categories.
  3. Successful completion of the JEE Advanced exam.

IIT Tirupati BTech Selection Criteria

  1. The selection is based on the JEE Advanced examination score.
  2. Candidates are shortlisted based on their JEE Advanced rank.
  3. The final merit list is prepared based on the JEE Advanced rank and the reservation policy of the Government of India.

IIT Tirupati MTech Admission Process

  1. Apply online: The IIT Tirupati MTech program application form is available on the institute's website. The application fee is INR 2500 for General/OBC-NCL candidates and INR 1250 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  2. Upload the Required Documents: The following documents need to be uploaded along with the application form:
    1. A scanned copy of the qualifying degree certificate.
    2. Scanned copy of the GATE scorecard.
    3. A scanned copy of the passport-size photograph.
    4. Scanned copy of the signature.
  3. Sit for the GATE Exam: The GATE exam is administered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and serves as the basis for Admission into MTech programs offered by these institutions.
  4. Wait for the GATE Results: The GATE results will be announced in April. The GATE-qualified candidates will be eligible to participate in the COAP counselling for Admission to the IIT Tirupati MTech program.
  5. Please Participate in the COAP Counselling: In the COAP counselling process, candidates will be assessed and ranked according to their GATE score and CGPA in their qualifying degree. Following this sequence, seats will be allocated to candidates according to their rank.
  6. Submit the Admission Fee and Documents: The selected candidates must submit the institute's admission fee and other required documents.

IIT Tirupati MTech Eligibility Criteria

  1. Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognised university or institution, with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) or an equivalent CGPA on a 10-point scale.
  2. Graduates from IITs with a BTech. A degree and a CGPA of 8.0 (7.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL and 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) and above are eligible to apply without a GATE Score. Such applications will undergo evaluation by the respective Department(s).

IIT Tirupati MTech Selection Criteria

  1. The selection process for IIT Tirupati MTech programmes is based on a combination of GATE scores and a written test/interview.
  2. The GATE score and written test/interview weightage vary depending on the programme.

IIT Tirupati MS Admission Process

  1. Apply Online: The online application portal for the MS program will be open. The application fee is Rs. 400 for general/EWS/OBC-NCL male candidates and Rs. 200 for general/EWS/OBC-NCL female candidates and SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  2. Write the GATE Exam: The GATE score is the primary selection criterion for shortlisting candidates for the MS program at IIT Tirupati.
  3. Attend Interview/Written Test: Chosen candidates will receive invitations for an interview and a written test. The interview/written test will be conducted to assess the candidate's aptitude for the program.
  4. Admission and Registration: The candidates who have accepted the offer of Admission will have to register at IIT Tirupati. 

IIT Tirupati MS Eligibility Criteria

  1. A BE/BTech/MSc/MCA degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks and a valid GATE score is required.
  2. Applicants without a valid GATE score may be considered for Admission under the Direct Admission (DA) scheme, subject to their performance in the interview.
  3. The minimum CGPA required for DA candidates is 8.0 for General Category candidates, 7.5 for OBC-NCL candidates, and 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

IIT Tirupati MS Selection Criteria

IIT Tirupati MSc Admission Process

  1. Apply Online: The application form for MSc admission at IIT Tirupati is available online. The application fee is Rs. 200/- for all categories.
  2. Take the JAM Exam: The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) is a national-level entrance exam for Admission to MSc programs in various disciplines at IITs and other premier institutes. 
  3. Apply for the MSc program of your Choice: After the JAM exam results are announced, you can apply for the MSc program at IIT Tirupati. The application form will be available online.
  4. Shortlisting of Candidates: The candidates will be shortlisted based on their JAM score, academic performance, and other relevant factors.
  5. Interview and Written Test: Chosen candidates will receive invitations for an interview and a written test. These assessments aim to evaluate the candidates' aptitude and knowledge in the respective field.
  6. Release of Cutoff: The conducting body of JAM will release the cutoff marks. This cutoff is standard for all the participating institutes and is a benchmark. 
  7. Document Submission and Fee Payment: Finally, candidates are allocated a seat. To secure Admission, IIT Tirupati candidates must submit the necessary documents for verification and complete the payment of admission fees.

IIT Tirupati MSc Eligibility Criteria

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (for General / OBC / EWS category candidates) or 50% marks (for SC/ST and PD category candidates) in aggregate.
  2. Degree obtained through distance education/ correspondence degree is eligible for Admission to MSc programmes in CY/MA/PH depts. The departments are to follow the interview for screening in such cases.

IIT Tirupati MSc Selection Criteria

IIT Tirupati PhD Admission Process

  1. Application: Applicants can apply online through the IIT Tirupati website. 
  2. Entrance Exams: Candidates must have valid Scores in these relevant GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/ICAR or ICMR entrance exams.
  3. Shortlisting: The selection committee will shortlist the applicants based on their academic qualifications, research experience, and GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/ICAR or ICMR score.
  4. Written Test and Interview: Candidates who make it to the shortlist will be extended invitations for a written test and an interview. The written test will be divided into two segments, encompassing a general aptitude test and a subject-specific test. The interview will be overseen by a panel of faculty members from IIT Tirupati.

IIT Tirupati PhD Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates with a master's degree in Science should have a valid score in GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/ICAR or ICMR or equivalent. 
  2. Candidates from Centrally Funded Technical Institute should have 8 CGPA for general, 7.5 CGPA for OBC-NCL and 7 CGPA for SC/ST can take direct Admission to PhD.

IIT Tirupati PhD Selection Criteria

  1. Screening of Applications: The applications will be screened based on the eligibility criteria and the GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/ICAR or ICMR score.
  2. Shortlist of Candidates: A shortlist of candidates will be prepared based on the screening of applications.
  3. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview.
