IIIT Hyderabad Admissions
- IIIT Hyderabad offers Admissions for various Programs, BTech, MTech and PhD.
- BTech Admissions are based on the JEE Main, followed by the JoSAA counselling process.
- Admission to the MTech program relies on GATE scores, and applicants must participate in the CCMT counselling process.

IIIT Hyderabad BTech Admission Process
- Appear for JEE Main: Candidates must have appeared for JEE Main and have a valid score.
- Register for IIIT Hyderabad BTech Admissions: Visit the official website of IIIT Hyderabad and register for B.Tech admissions.
- Please fill out the application form: Once registered, complete it carefully and submit it with the required documents.
- Pay the application fee: Pay the application fee online through the payment gateway.
- Attend the JOSSA counselling session: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a counselling session based on their JEE Main scores.
- Please select a program and branch: During the counselling session, candidates must select one.
- Pay the admission fee: Once the program and branch are selected, candidates must pay the fee to confirm their seat.
IIIT Hyderabad BTech Eligibility Criteria
- For admission to the CND program (BTech in CS and MS in Computational Natural Sciences), the candidate must have scored 90% or more aggregate in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry in the 12th class.
- Candidates must have passed the 12th class or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% in the case of reserved category candidates).
- The candidate must have passed the 12th class or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
- The candidate must have a valid score in the JEE Main examination.
IIIT Hyderabad BTech Selection Criteria
- Candidates will be selected based on their JEE Main scores.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a counselling session during which they will be required to select a program and branch of their choice.
IIIT Hyderabad MTech Admission process
- Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for entrance exams such as GATE or IIIT Hyderabad's PGEE (Postgraduate Entrance Examination).
- Shortlisting: Based on the entrance exam scores, candidates are shortlisted for further rounds, which may include written tests, interviews, or counselling.
- Counselling: Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling and must provide their preferences for courses and specialization.
- Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on the candidate's rank in the entrance exam and their preferences.
IIIT Hyderabad MTech Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent from a recognized university/institution with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA/CPI of 6.0 on 10 10-point scale (without rounding off) for UR/EWS/OBC candidates.
Minimum 55% or CGPA/CPI of 5.5 on a 10-point scale (without rounding off) for SC/ST/PC candidates.
The GATE score must be valid at admission and align with the appropriate GATE Paper.
IIIT Hyderabad MTech Selection Criteria
- The final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the GATE score, written examination, and interview.
IIIT Hyderabad PhD Admission Process
- Application: The application form is available online on the IIIT Hyderabad website. The application fee is INR 1000 for General/OBC candidates and INR 500 for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
- Entrance Exams: Candidates must have valid scores in the GATE/JRF/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET entrance exams.
- Appear for the Written Test and Interview: A limited number of candidates will be shortlisted for a written test and interview. The date and venue of the written test and interview will be announced later.
IIIT Hyderabad PhD Eligibility Criteria
Master's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of at least 6.5 on a scale of 10.
A valid score in the GATE exam or UGC/CSIR NTA-NET-JRF examination.
A research proposal in the area of specialization.
Good academic record and research aptitude.
IIIT Hyderabad PhD Selection Criteria
- The selection of candidates will be made on a merit basis. Candidates will be ranked based on their performance in the GATE exam, written test, and interview.
