Dayananda Sagar College of Dental Sciences DSCDS : Admissions

1. Check the Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination with compulsory subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. They must have also obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in these subjects. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) students or students of any other categories notified by the government shall be given a relaxation of 10% in the aggregate marks required for eligibility.
2. Register for NEET: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the entrance exam for admission to dental colleges in India. The candidate must register for NEET and appear for the exam.
3. Obtain a Qualifying Rank in NEET: The candidate must obtain a qualifying rank in NEET to be eligible for admission to DSCDS. The qualifying rank is decided by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
4. Apply for Admission Through KEA Counselling: The KEA conducts a centralised counselling process for admission to dental colleges in Karnataka. The candidate must apply for admission through this counselling process.
5. Submit the Required Documents: The candidate must submit the required documents to the college, such as their NEET scorecard, mark sheets, and other certificates.
6. Pay the Admission Fee: The candidate must pay the admission fee to the college.

The admission process for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program at Dayananda Sagar College of Dental Sciences (DSCDS) is as follows:

1. Eligibility: Candidates must have passed the two-year Pre-University Examination of Karnataka's Pre-University Board (or equivalent qualifying examination of other recognised boards) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as one of the study languages. Candidates must have obtained not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a pass in English. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) students or students of any other categories notified by the government shall be given a relaxation of 10% in the aggregate marks required for eligibility.
2. Application: Candidates must apply for the BDS program through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates can apply for the NEET exam online through the official NTA website.
3. Selection: Candidates will be selected for admission to the BDS program based on their merit rank in the NEET exam. The merit rank is calculated based on the total marks obtained in the NEET exam's Physics, Chemistry and Biology sections.
4. Counselling: Candidates selected for admission to the BDS program will be invited for counselling. During counselling, candidates will be allocated seats in the college based on their merit rank and preferences.
5. Admission: Candidates who have been allotted seats in the college must complete the admission formalities by paying the required fees and submitting the required documents.

1. Age Requirement: Candidates applying for admission must have reached the age of 17 years by the time of admission or will achieve this age by December 31st of the calendar year in which they seek admission.
2. 5. Relaxation for Reserved Categories: Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) students and students from other categories notified by the government are eligible for a relaxation of 10% in the aggregate marks required for eligibility.
6. NEET Percentile Requirement: Candidates must also have attained the required percentile marks in the NEET Examination, as specified by the relevant authority.

1. Register for NEET MDS: Candidates can register on the National Board of Examinations (NBE) official website. The registration process usually opens in February and closes in March.
2. Take NEET MDS: NEET MDS is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted twice a year, in May and December. The exam consists of 240 multiple-choice questions that cover a wide range of dental subjects.
3. Apply for MDS Admission at DSCDS: The application process for MDS admission at DSCDS is online and usually opens in July. To apply, Candidates must create an account on the DSCDS website and fill out the application form. Candidates must also upload scanned copies of their NEET MDS scorecard, BDS degree certificate, and other relevant documents.
4. Attend Counselling: Eligible candidates will be invited for counselling based on their NEET MDS scores. Counselling will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). During counselling, Candidates can select their preferred MDS speciality and college.
5. Complete Admission Formalities: Once you are allotted a seat at DSCDS, Candidates must complete the admission formalities by paying the required fees and submitting the necessary documents. The list of required documents will be provided to you by the college.

Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for admission to the MDS course, a candidate must possess a BDS degree from a college and university that holds recognition from the Dental Council of India, New Delhi. Alternatively, an equivalent qualification recognised by the Dental Council of India is also acceptable. Additionally, the candidate should have obtained permanent registration with the State Dental Council. 
2. Qualifying Examinations Candidates must have appeared for and successfully qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). 
3. Qualifying Marks Candidates must attain the specific percentile marks in the NEET Examination, as stipulated by the relevant authority.

1. Check Eligibility: To be eligible for PhD admission at DSCDS, candidates must have:
1. A Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) degree from a recognised university in India.
2. A valid UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE score or have passed an M.Phil program.
2. Apply Online: Visit the DSCDS website and click the "Admissions" tab. Then, click the "PhD" link and complete the online application form.
3. Submit Required Documents: Along with the online application form, candidates must submit the following documents:
1. Attested copies of all academic transcripts and certificates.
2. UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE score card (if applicable).
3. M.Phil degree certificate (if applicable).
4. Research proposal (not more than 1000 words).
5. Two letters of recommendation from senior faculty members.
4. Appear for Entrance Test and Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an entrance test and interview. The entrance test will include questions on general dentistry, research methodology, and the candidate's proposed research topic. The interview will be conducted by a panel of experts who will assess the candidate's research aptitude, communication skills, and overall personality.
5. Get Selected: Based on the performance in the entrance test and interview, candidates will be selected for admission to the PhD program.

Individuals with an MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) degree can enrol in the PhD program. 

1. Qualifying Examinations Candidates desiring to register for the PhD course under RGUHS (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences) must participate in the university's entrance test, even if they have previously qualified in examinations such as UGC – NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET, GATE, or hold a teacher fellowship, or have completed an M.Phil program. 
2. Qualifying Marks In the Ph.D. Entrance Test, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks. Those who score 50% or higher are considered qualified, and these marks remain valid for the academic year they were attained.

3. Transfer Certificate: Provide a copy of your transfer certificate.
