Admissions at BMS College of Engineering
Admissions to BMSCE are based on merit and entrance exams. The college accepts students based on their performance in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) or the COMEDK UGET (Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test) for undergraduate programs. For postgraduate programs, the college accepts students based on their performance in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET).

Eligibility Criteria for Management Quota Admission in BMS College of Engineering
FOR GENERAL MERIT CANDIDATES: A candidate who has Passed in 2nd PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 60% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination are eligible to pursue in undergraduate programs (BE).
FOR SC/ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A 3B) CATEGORY CANDIDATES: A candidate who has Passed in 2nd PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 40% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue in undergraduate pogroms (BE).
The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science / Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained in Chemistry are less than the required aggregate percentage for the pursuit of determination of eligibility.

Eligibility Criteria of PG Programs at BMS College of Engineering
- A candidate with a valid GATE score or PGCET of Karnataka
- A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination (i.e., BE/B. Tech Degree) in the relevant discipline and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% of marks (for General Merir Candidates) taken together in all the subjects of all the years/semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to ME / M. Tech programs. ( 45% of marks in qualifying examination in case of SC, ST, and Cat-I candidates. (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidate)

A candidate who has passed the Qualifying Examination i.e., any Recognised Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50 % of (for General Merit Candidates) marks taken together in all the subjects including language in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to full-time MBA course. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST, and Category – I of Karnataka Candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates)

The Indian R&D Center of Huawei (a leading global ICT solutions provider) has signed an MoU with BMS College of Engineering to provide Huawei Scholarships for Excellence to students of the Engineering College.
