AIMS Institute Admissions

AIMS Institutes offer a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in business, commerce, hotel management, computer applications, and social work. The admissions process at AIMS Institutes is based on merit, and the eligibility criteria may vary depending on the course.

AIMS Institute Admission Process

The admissions process at AIMS Institutes is as follows:

  1. Complete the online application form: The application form can be found on the AIMS Institutes' website. The application fee is INR 1,000.
  2. Submit your academic transcripts: Candidates must submit official transcripts from all previous institutions.
  3. Take the required entrance exams: The entrance exams for different courses vary. For example, the MBA program requires a valid score in the following exams: MAT, XAT, CMAT, CAT, or ATMA.
  4. Attend the interview:  Shortlisted Candidates will be called to attend an interview. The discussion will assess your academic qualifications, communication skills, and overall suitability for the program.
  5. Receive your offer letter: Selected Candidates will receive an offer letter. Candidates must accept the offer letter and pay the admission fee to secure seats.

AIMS Institute UG Admission Process

  1. All applicants must fill out and submit our online application form using the "Apply Now" link.
  2. After submitting the application, a designated representative from the admission office will contact you.
  3. If applicable, the candidate must attend an interview or selection process based on which College will offer them a seat in the program of their interest.
  4. Please note that all communication and correspondence will be conducted in English.

AIMS Institute UG Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for admission, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  1. Pass in Pre-University Course (PUC) / 12th or equivalent examination. Students with good communication skills are preferred.

  2. GCE/JGCSE/GCSE Certification: A minimum pass in FIVE subjects at 'O' level & TWO subjects at 'A' level.

  3. Pass Certificate / Diploma of a Secondary Stage Level Examination (TWELVE Years) from any discipline recognized by any country's national board/council.


AIMS Institute PG Admission Process

  1. Applicants must complete and submit the online application form by clicking the "Apply Now" link to apply for admission.
  2. After applying, a representative from the admission office will contact you.
  3. If applicable, the candidate must appear for an interview/selection process. Based on the candidate's interview/selection process performance, the College will offer a seat in the program of their interest.

AIMS Institute MSW Eligibility Criteria

  • Successfully graduated with at least 50% marks in BA/BSW.
  • The minimum marks required for SC/ST/CAT-1 candidates are 45%.

AIMS Institute MCA Eligibility Criteria

  • Secured a minimum of 50% marks in graduation.
  • The minimum marks required for SC/ST/CAT-1 candidates are 45%.
  • Must have studied Mathematics, Electronics, Computer Science, or Statistics as a subject in the 12th standard or at the graduation level.

AIMS Institute MCom Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have successfully graduated in BCOM or BBA at the graduation level to be eligible for admission.

AIMS Institute MFA Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have successfully graduated in BCOM or BBA at the graduation level to be eligible for admission.

AIMS Institute MBA Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must meet one of the following eligibility criteria for admission into the MBA programme:

  1. A graduate degree under a 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern in any discipline, securing at least 50 per cent of aggregate marks from a recognized university.
  2. An honours degree under the 10+2+4 pattern from a recognized university under the UGC Act with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate, including languages.
  3. Candidates who have passed Bachelor/Master's degrees through correspondence/Open University System from this University or any other university recognized by law are exempted from the 10+2 pattern. The duration of the degree programme must be 3+2 years.
  4. Candidates who pass the bachelor/master's degree in any university system in a single sitting pattern are not eligible for admission to the MBA programme offered by AIMS Institutes, Bangalore.
  5. For SC/ST/Category I candidates, there is a 5 per cent relaxation in the aggregate of marks obtained in the University Exams.
  6. MBA admission criteria are based on a valid score in PGCET (MBA)/CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA or any national admission test.

AIMS Institute MBA Selection Process:

The AIMS MBA Selection Process consists of 4 rounds, each carefully designed to assess the applicants thoroughly:

  1. Statement of Purpose (SOP): Applicants must submit a Statement of Purpose, which our panel of experts will evaluate.
  2. Extempore: Candidates will participate in an Extempore round to showcase their spontaneous speaking and analytical skills.
  3. Group Discussion (GD): Applicants will engage in Group Discussions to demonstrate their teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities.
  4. Personal Interview: The final round involves a Personal Interview, where applicants' overall suitability and potential will be assessed.

Based on the performance in the above four rounds, applicants will be thoroughly evaluated by the panel of experts, and the results will be announced accordingly.

Shortlisting Criteria:

Applicants will be shortlisted for the selection process based on merit, considering their performance in the following areas:

  • Academics
  • Competitive exam scores
  • Achievements and recognition in extracurricular activities, sports, debates, theatre, arts, etc.

Selection Process Format: Depending on the prevailing conditions and guidelines, the selection process will be in-person or online.

Offer of Admission: Selected students will receive offer letters via email. To secure their seat, they are required to complete the following steps:

  1. First Installment of Fees: Upon receiving the first instalment of fees by the due date mentioned in the Offer Letter, the seat will be secured for admission.
  2. Confirmation of Seat: The seat will be confirmed once the candidate submits their entrance exam score, provides original documents as required, and pays the second instalment of fees by the due date.

AIMS Institute PhD Admission Process

The AIMS PhD Admission Process consists of the following steps:

  1. Application: Applicants must submit an online application form and the necessary documents.
  2. Shortlisting: Based on the applicant's academic performance, research experience, and other factors, a shortlist of candidates will be prepared.
  3. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. A panel of faculty members from AIMS will conduct the interview.
  4. Selection: Candidates will be finally selected based on their performance in the interview

AIMS Institute PhD in Management Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking registration for a PhD programme must meet the following requirements:

  • A candidate shall have a Master's Degree or any other Degree/Diploma from the University or any other University/Institution recognized as equivalent to that, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equal Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or an equivalent Grade.

Relaxation in Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility condition is relaxed to 50% in the following cases:

  • SC/ST/Cat-I candidates.
  • Candidates who are currently in service and have at least five years of regular experience in teaching as teachers, library professionals, physical education instructors, or laboratory staff in educational institutions.

AIMS Institute PhD in Commerce Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who fulfil the following criteria are eligible to apply for registration in a PhD program:

  • A candidate should hold a Master's Degree or any other Degree / Diploma from the University or any other Degree / Diploma from a recognized University / Institution, deemed equivalent, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), or a corresponding Grade.
  • However, this requirement is relaxed to 50% for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates.
  • In-service candidates with at least five years of regular experience in teaching professions as teachers, library professionals, physical education instructors, or laboratory staff in educational institutions.

AIMS Institute PhD in Computer Application Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria determine eligibility for enrollment in a PhD program:

  • Candidates must possess a Master's Degree or any other Degree / Diploma from the University or any other Degree / Diploma from a recognized University / Institution that is deemed equivalent, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), or a corresponding Grade.

However, this requirement is relaxed to 50% for:

  • SC/ST/Cat-I candidates.
  • In-service candidates with at least five years of regular experience in teaching professions, such as teachers, library professionals, physical education instructors, or laboratory staff in educational institutions.

AIMS Institute PhD Selection Criteria

  • Admission to PhD shall be through an Entrance Test only.
  • Applications for the Entrance Test are invited once a year by the University. The entrance test is generally conducted during September/October.
  • The Registrar (Evaluation) of the University of Mysore invites applications from eligible candidates.
  • The Entrance Test comprises one paper on the broad area of PhD, carrying 100 marks and having a duration of 3 hours.
  • The respective Boards of Studies frame the syllabus for the paper based on the UGC/CSIR National Eligibility Test (NET) pattern.
  • The paper contains 50 objective-type questions, each carrying one mark, and essay-type/short answer questions for 50 effects.
  • For candidates intending to pursue interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary research, the Entrance Test consists of a standard Entrance test in a general paper. The syllabus for this paper is framed by the Inter/Multidisciplinary Board of Studies.
  • To be eligible to apply for admission to a PhD, a candidate must secure at least 55 marks out of 100 (50 effects out of 100, i.e., 50% in the case of SC/ST candidates) in the Entrance Test.

Note:

  • Successful completion of the entrance test implies a candidate's eligibility for admission to the PhD program at the University. However, it does not guarantee access to the Ph.D. degree program.
  • The validity of the eligibility certificate is one year from the date of the entrance test until the next entrance test is notified.
  • The entrance test process applies to all candidates intending to pursue research leading to a PhD degree, and it is conducted for all research centres under the University by the respective Departments.
