Bachelor of Technology Information Technology deals with the designing, working, maintenance, and analysis of various network algorithms and communication systems that can be used across domains such as receiving big data for analysis, wireless networking, cloud computing, etc and analysis of various types of networks and ensuring proper security system is maintained throughout. 

BTech Information Technology Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for admission to this program is as given below. 

• 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board or equivalent CGPA. 5-10% relaxation for the reserved category students. 
• Main subjects as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in HSC. 
• The basic aggregate marks required changes based on college even though most colleges follow the above mentioned.
• Candidates should have the age of 17 years on or before the date of admission.
• Candidates having a 3-year Diploma in the related field from a recognized university are also eligible to apply for Lateral Entry admissions.

BTech Information Technology Admission Process 

There are two kinds of admission process for the program enrolment. Entrance based and merit-based. 

Entrance Based Admission: Here the admission is allotted based on the national and state level entrance exams such as, ComedK, KCET, Jee Main, AIEEE etc. Students with the relevant cutoff marks will get the admission in the respective colleges after counseling. 

Merit-Based Admission: This also can be called as Management Quota admission or Direct admission. In this admission process, the student has to apply directly to the desired university or college through their application process. Some of them offer online and some offline.
